I like your home made heat shield. Make sure you use good big wires too. My 460 has a hard time starting sometimes when it is hot and I know it is the wires to the starter getting hot.

i used a big worm clamp to hold the sheild to the starter and also bolted it to the bellhousing.... so far it is working better then before.... still need to set the timing with my light.... probley this weekend.

Looks like you stripped the factory paint off the headers. How did you go about doing that? Also, did you re-coat them with something?
I have the same headers and started stripping them with an abrasive wheel, but I can't get all the nooks and crannies.
