Yep, the sober guy was driving, I was still in my firesuit wedged in the cage on the passenger side for the whole stunt. Yes, we shut the motor down to place the order and to pay. I figured you guys would all enjoy this. Hey 1971, wanna trade for a weekend????

That's awesome!

Where do you race?
03 Chevy S10 - the daily driver
68 Ford F100 longbed - the tow pig / TLC project
78 Chevy Impala - the race car

I'm sorry if I ask lots of questions, there's just a lot of stuff I don't know (yet).

haha i'd trade for a weekend!

GOod idea with the firesuit too!

Here's an idea i have been wanting to do for a while, and get someone to video tape it in the bushes.

Me driving the race truck with full race clothing (fire suit, neck brace, and racing helmet) with co-driver with same race day gear, pull up to a gas station, jump out of the truck, and fuel the truck as fast as possible (truck has side filler going to fuel cell), maybe even have the co-driver change a tire with air tools while doing this. meanwhile yellling "go go go!" to grab attention of course. Hop back in and blast away.
Look on peoples faces? priceless.

We were going to do this last desert race because we didn't have enough dump cans. Town was 5 miles away form the course.

I race sometimes at Irwindale, but full time at Willow Springs Speedway, next race is October 30th at 6pm..... You're pretty close by, come on out and say HI! We're gonna win the Championship that night!

I'm gonna be in Fresno that night for something already.....

Does Willow have a good car count now? My buddy raced at Willow about a year ago (hobby stock) and got tore up by a pro stock. He has a dirt car too, so we've been focusing on that instead.

Car count has been pretty good lately, and a lot has changed up there since last year, averaging about 8 cars or so per class, which is better than the 3 to 4 we had at the beginning of the year. New Promoter, better organization, payout is based on pit passes sold. Pretty good place to race and the fan count has been around 1300+ for the last 3 events. things are improving and will be even better next season.
