There should only be one wire, a power wire that goes to any power source. Then the spotlight itself needs to be grounded (its grounded to the cab when you install it.
To test the light simply touch the power to the + of a battery and the spotlight itself to the - terminal and it should light up. Mine works pretty good :D

If you have a different type of spotlight then it would just have two wires a + and a - and should work when those are touched to a good battery.
