Thanks Jeff! You're totally right, after driving for a while especially when I was in Wilmington Monday after I got my permit I realized the biggest problem was other drivers so defensive driving is definitely important, will be careful too insurance is already gonna be high enough for me to drive the bump.

How much will it be for you?
I'm paying $85/mo for Montana liability on my 97 Dodge and 71 F250. The bump is my "daily driver" on the insurance.

EDIT: BTW I'm 19 (20 in one month) and I've had one at fault accident back in Feb 08.

$228 per month for $30k/$60k/$25k that's the quote we got from Progressive when my dad was talking to our insurance agent. The quote is for when I'm 16 though, he said that when I turned 17 as long as I didn't get any violations it would go down about $100 per month which is a pretty big drop and by the time I'm 19 he said it would only be around $50-60 a month so it won't be too bad by then. $228 a month is gonna suck. Luckily my parents are going to help pay my insurance if not then I'd only have $70 a month in gas when I get a job again .

Congrats Casey!

Can you get a discount for good grades too? On the left coast, they take school grades into account. My Niece got a smoking good deal (well, relatively speaking anyway  ) because she has really good grades.
Interestingly, that doesn't directly reflect in her driving.
We think she is trying to redefine the laws of physics.

Good job Casey.
Because you're a Bump Owner, we know you'll do right in you're driving. Keep up the good driving record and your wallet will appreciate the reduced insurance rates.
Seems like only yesterday I got my permit, course that was WAAAAAY back in 1965 (my GOD, I'm still alive?!) Thanks for taking me down memory lane with your coming of age tale.
Bumps ARE chick magnets just ask anyone of my three Daughters, they LOVE their Daddy's Truck. YES Guys they're all single, look like their momma (THANK GOD!) and over 21 and under 30. That's why I keep the Smith & Wesson loaded (just kiddin')
