hazelnut wrote:Casey, ive been told that if your cought in NC driveing over 100mph your charged with attempted murder. Any truth to that ? Years ago i made a 325 mile trip to the speedway in just over 3 hours in the early morning hours and when i said something to people that lived in carolina all of them told me that same thing. I was very lucky that i didnt get cought.
:hmm:, Haven't heard that, does seem like it could be an NC law though our state is pretty strict on things. 325 miles in 3 hours? Something tells me you weren't in the bump . I'm gonna look it up, or ask my driver's ed teacher about it I've never heard of it.

Got a friend at work that was doing 91 in a 65 on a crotch rocket in Gwinett county. Nailed him with a Super Speeder ticket. $1200 fine, lose license for 5 years, massive points, etc. Something outrageous anyway. Got a lawyer and somehow put it off and delayed and put it off for about 14 months. Courts finally offered him a deal to clear their docket and he wound paying only $125 fine, no loss of license and no points! I think he paid the lawyer $250 cause it was a family friend. If you can stall sentencing for an extended time, they'll do that to clear their schedules, I'm told.
