I have not seen anything I would consider snotty, but I am rather thick skinned. I believe a little Jabbing, kidding around, or a little gottcha now and then is good for the soul. My late Father had a saying that would fit well to all this, but, due to the content I better leave it unsaid.

...not to mention that text doesn't reflect the emotion of the person typing it. Sometimes it's hard to tell if it's a joking jab or not. Besides, we don't even really know each other. For example, how would I ever know if bobbyford or Duckrider are class clowns or not. Don't take anything personal unless someone is vagrant.

I'm still reasonably new-ish here (post-count-wise), and I've asked a few really stupid questions and got a little good-natured ribbing, but I feel at home with that. Feels like talking with the rancher down the road when I was a few years younger, or my dad or uncles, or the way I talk to my buddies now. Civil, sometimes blunt and to-the-point, some good-natured ribbing, and lots of helping each other out. If you see a clearly on-purpose snotty post, just ignore it... who knows what was behind it (18hr. work day, low blood sugar, misinterpretation, etc.). There are enough high-quality replies on here to more than make up for anything you might see like that.

I've seen a couple people get into a "I'm right you're wrong.. No I'm right and YOU'RE wrong" battle. But like others have said this is by far the mildest most behaved forum I belong to.

Having been here a couple of years now the comradrerary on this board has become as important as the tech advice .
It is much like the enviroment in a large shop,no matter what type of advice you need someone will be able to point you in the right direction.
However when you get this many talented people from all over the country there will be some friction/misunderstanding,the longer you are here
the more you will begin to understand the mind set of these many diffrent people :2cents:
It would be VERY dificult to tackle a project of the size and scope that many of us are in a vacume :fr:
Besides here is the only place where people wont think you are crazy for spending all your time/money on a truck that if you are sucessful will live to collect social security

I am known for snooty replies on some boards, and emails. When people meet me they say your a heck of a nice guy in person, but coma across as a ass in emails. I think that message boards and emails have a tendancy to come off wrong because you can't see or hear expressions.

I also wish when someone solves a problem, the let everyone know what the problem was. I like following a postings of problems to learn trouble shooting, but when people get the info they need, there is no "thank you for everyones imput, my problem was"...... that should be the final posting.

I think THANK YOU is used far to little on every message board.

I agree!-with the thanks-I am new here, maybe-maybe not on the attitude, as has been stated it is hard to tell. I think all in all-from my point, this site is wonderful, and the creator, and the moderators, along with the guys who keep it going, deserve a big thank you. It helps if post like this cause all of us to check-ourselves-------before we --WRECK-ourselves--keep up the great work-ALL!

I am no psychologist I just have seen the pattern from reading a buttload of old posts back as far as 2005. And failing to search is an issue often, I concur.

 Fordman?? Snooty?

Guy tries to help out all the time? Trust me,...you have Moderators and guys on here that know a ton about these trucks and actually take time out to help you. It is frustrating when new comers don't search first or actually take the time to read a few posts. I've been on here where someone asks a question that was asked three or four posts down the line? Hard not to post WTF. :D

Hey cc! Love the tagline! "remember the key is to start what you finish". I had to read it twice before I got it but then cracked up.

I'm sure I've been considered rude and looking like I hadn't searched first but believe me, I search, daily, with gusto! I guess I'm just dense sometimes and don't really understand what's being said, or misinterpreting it. At 52 years old, been around the block, and considered by some in my circle to be "quite the brain", I'm often reminded of just how little I know when talking, listening, and eaves dropping, on some of you guys conversations. I guess that's why I'm not easily offended when you point out what dumba-- questions I've asked! And why I highly value your opinions and advice. Want attitude? Go over to the "dark side". There's a couple guys over there that are REAL jerks. A couple of years ago I got my itty bitty widdle feelings hurt on here, can't even remember why now, so went and tried them out. Only took about 2 weeks before I came running home, feeling like I needed a shower.

What an IDIOT!!! I forgot to add the word "not" to my response to Fordman. He is the last guy I would call snotty, or snooty. I think I saw a reply to someone else on two different topics from the same user that were both pretty confrontational and dogmatic. (nice word...right?)

I just needed to vent.

Now I'm the ASS.
