The engine in the 2012 is different. It is a 2.0L Ti-VCT GDI 4 cyl. Basically it has variable cam timing and direct injection. It is a different animal I believe. I had an 01 ZX3 with the 2.0L Ztec engine in it. It was a great little car too.

Yes we got the Sync option. It is really cool but we need to upgrade our cell phones to get the full use of it.

It has the powershift six speed trans and I like it for the most part. I have noticed that it does not like going up our driveway at slow speeds. Our driveway is a fair grade and it is gravel. If I take it too slow going up the hill the car seems to have a hard time deciding which gear to stay in. Other than that one issue and the occasional clunky downshift it seems to do real well.
After a another 1000 miles or so we are still real happy with this car. I have found that if I shift into low before climbing my driveway the car has no problem with the gear hunting like when it is in drive. This is only an isolated issue that is related to my drive and grade. Out on the highway I am very confident that the car will get 40 mpg. You won't see 40 mpg in town or as an average but out on the interstate this car will definitely get 40 mpg! Our average is 35mpg so I won't complain about that! :D

That is cool, I'm glad it is working out, this is an important car for Ford and I'm starting to see many more of them on the road!

Sharp car, I too really like them.
Is the tranny the same 6F35 that Ford is having so...many issues with?

That I do not know. I was under the impression that it was a new tranny. I could be wrong though.
