Yeah you are really moving on that thing......Great thread....I just sealed the deal today on a 72 crewcab special. Great minds must think alike because I was brainstorming going the exact route your taking making it four wheel drive and using the dodge dana 60. I will be sure to revert back to thins thread to see how you did things. may i ask why the ford super duty springs vs factory f350 springs on the rear end? what springs did you use in the front? what did it end up taking to get the dodge 60 under the truck and steering?? :D

I used the superduty springs in the rear just so they would match the front liftwise. They are procomp 4 in lift springs front and back. To get the dodge dana 60 to work you have to notch the pass side spring pack to fit the spring pad other than that build a front crossmember and swing shackels. You can see i had to bend these because the dodge 60 sits like 1/2 wider on each side. For the steering i used a1978 cheby k20 drag link and rereamed the steering arms the ford one needs to be bigger and the dodge one i made so the drag link connects to the top not the bottom.By the way the reamer is 7deg. taper big $$$ for one but i love tools. If you need to know anything else let me know also i have more pics i could post so you could see some things even better. I sounds worse than it is took me like 3hrs to do that includes taking the old front end off.

i weigh all my options and it was way easer to get a dodge front 60. We have a truck night by me and those guys seem to have all the ford 60s sucked up. as fo shaving the springs i only had to take a 1/8 off i put the 60 on my mill and shaved alittle off the side of the housing otherwise i would have had to take 1/4 or more off the springs. the pads in the superduty springs wear out quickso it prob wont have time to crack.

Highly reccommend 1350 series stuff for this! I had the rude awakening when I built my driveline that someone had scabbed 1/2 ton crap into my F-350!
