I just watched it off my DVR last night. I thought it was a pretty nice truck. I liked the paint scheme and the wheels. Looked like maybe a crate 302 engine?
On a side note, Elvira is holding up pretty well! She's gotta be like 50, right?!?!

Just watched the episode last night and Elvira impressed me a little more than the truck. Paint and wheels looked good but they didnt show too much of the build. I gotta say I'm little jealous of these guys who can just throw out these huge $45k offers on something they see on the street, the Torino for example. Or the guy who bought the truck for his wife, spent $35K like it was nothing, I gotta make me some more money. lol

I watched the show and it was 'entertaining' and not much else. The only realistic part was the guy coming by and being pissed seeing it not ready to go. At least I'm not the only guy who's missing his door seals and I guess they forgot to paint the hood (although it certainly is odd that the underside of the hood wasn't sandblasted).

$35k? So what did they do, go buy a restored truck and swap their sheetmetal on it or just paint the restored truck and toss the sandblasted poor decision in the trash can. After all they talk a lot about 'flipping' cars

I'd lay any amount of money that the whole Torino bit was set up for filler since the truck build wasn't interesting enough to show other than the drama over the $2500 oak side boards.

The Elvira T-bird was cool but there wasn't any substance to that part of the episode, just enough hints (and boobs) to keep the sheeple interested through the next commercial break.

Not a show worth watching again.

Yep, I looked her up on IMDb. September 17, 1951. She looks pretty good for 61! She started out as a showgirl in Vegas, so it makes sense that she was in Vegas and ended up on Counting Cars.

Back on the subject of the show, the black Camaro they rebuilt looked nice, as well as the motorcycles they built. It's an ok show in my opinion. Like all these reality-type shows, we just can't take them too seriously. All these "reality" shows, even the shows like "American Pickers", when you really stop and think about how these shows are being filmed, the camera is already there and set up when the landowner comes out and catches them "looking" or you're seeing them pull up in the person's driveway and getting out or coming into the person's house or garage. Other than shows like "COPS", there isn't really such a thing as a true "reality" show. :2cents:

Yeah they never did show where the frame came from or what they did to the underneath of it,but all in all....the cars they come across are pretty 8)

The staged meetings on the streets are far fetched, but still some sweet rides :2cents:
