The left rear lugs are left hand threaded. You were probably tightening them. When I got my F350 it had one broken stud on the left rear. Probably broken doing the same thing you did.

So I fixed the studs repacked all the bearings and changed the diff fluid. Put it all back together and without one set of wheels she only weighs 4920. This will save me about $130 a year on registration. I was so excited at the weigh scale that I think the girl thought I was trying to pass one over on her.

Yeah, I was gonna say, it will be hard to get under 5K. My '73 F350 SCS weights 5200 with me in it.
