Those are some great reasons and I'm sure we could all make a HUGE list of why we like are trucks. :yt: but I wish I could say the same. No offerse to anybody from Canada or Canada itself but it would be cooler if my truck wasnt Canadian. I live about 35 min from the closed Norfolk truck plant too. I also sometimes drive a 2002 F150 FX4 that was made there but even though its "American" I still have to use metric tools to work on it, something that the F100 doesn't need :D

That's cool! My truck may have been built in Canada but it was a Georgia truck for most of its life like yours ( sold there originally too) ,then a Tennessee truck for awhile and now its an east coast truck. Hopefully one day down the road I can do a rebuild like you are doing but for now im keeping the truck going by replacing what I need to have a good, dependable driver.

1. Its styling is classic, but it still says TRUCK.
2. I can work on it without having a Masters Degree in Computer Engineering.
3. I don't have BMWs zipping in front of me in traffic (their paint jobs are shinier than mine, and their fenders are thinner!).

  my ol'pig was built in san jose so i threw a merc hood on it to lessen its american-ness .... ..and don't get me started on the metric system

ANYWAYS: top 3 things i like about my Ol' Pig :
(1)The dash is flat and makes a great table when i grab a coffee or some burgers and junk and go park down at the beach
(2) the way it looks, especially the big wall of chrome grille that blinds oncoming traffic as well during the day as my poorly aimed headlights do at night
(3)the way that when i open the sucker up and get the glasspacks rapping away or manage to get the 5.0 to bark or smoke the tires i feel just like i did 20-ish years ago doing the exact same thing in the exact same old truck (well ok the trucks changed a fair bit over the years but its still my ol'pig)
- still got my first first car 20+yrs later : 69 f100 sorta kinda pretending its a Mercury M100 w/a 70 f350 sport custom cab (factory buckets) 67 grille with 69 ranger cooneyes 68 merc box and hood, some supercool fiberglass fenders i scored way back when, 76 f150 disc brake frontend..currently running a 90 5.0HO 4bbl/c4 auto & 3.50 posi...originally a 360/c6 f100 Ranger with dealer added towpack (incl. kelsey hays trailer brake),boxside toolbox, behind the seat stowage & belly tank...only original parts left on 'er are the frame, rear end, rear springs, and rear bumper...

The big inline 6 and rowing the 4 speed with the granny gear

Mine was Canadian built for Georgia. Been in Georgia all its life and was rebuilt in Georgia.

This is more then three...

Three on a tree everyone thinks im crazy when driving and no one knows how to drive it but me and a few other people.
Manual steering with a big steering wheel.
Easy to repair and maintenance with the 240 straight six and still running points.
It has that classic Ford look and looks damn good.
Easier on gas with the 240 straight six.
Rubber matting easy to clean.
It's a long bed.
I put a camper shell on it.
Manual widows, window vents and floor vents. No power windows going out on this thing. It aint no pimp ride.
No one knows how to open the tail gate but me and other Ford guys.
Easy to drive, can't figure out the new trucks. Too many gadgets and distractions to get into a wreak with and three times bigger then my truck, plus I look like a midget in a new one.

1. The rumble of the 390 through the true duals and glasspacks.
2. The fact that it can haul in more ways than one.
3. The fact that it's 42 years old, original and still gets compliments.

Oh man... Where to start....

1. You'll never see a Prius jolt back into his place faster than when you throw in the clutch and rev at him for trying to cut me off.
2. No one wants to drive it, on account of the 4 on the floor, and old Ford steering.
3. PERFECT platform (in my opinion) for a cummins swap.

There's certainly more, but those are my top three. :D
