Re: '69 250 Camper Special Project Thread
thanks guys.
haven't taken that many pics of the truck so i thought i'd do an update!
After doing the painless system myself, i got burnt out on the electrical and decided to have a stereo shop do the install. They installed a retrosound radio with a dual voice coil speaker in the dash and two 5.5" alpines in the doors. I was hoping they could do it in the upper part of the panel but they weren't going to hold good so they had to put them in the bottom of the door panel. Still very happy the way it turned out and sounds great. Only thing it could use would be a sub but there's no room with the gas tank!
here's a close up of the gauge bezel
![Image](http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo199/Kmcypress10/IMG_6319_zpsv5a2gp5b.jpg)
matching knobs and slick USB in place of the cigarette lighter.
![Image](http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo199/Kmcypress10/IMG_6305_zps0b04fg77.jpg)
gotta put the door jamb on, clean her up a bit, straighten the steering wheel, and put the horn ring on still but the interior is pretty much done!
![Image](http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo199/Kmcypress10/IMG_6314_zpsv8divexz.jpg)
one day she'll get a full inside and outside coat of paint but for now she'll do![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Wow man...fantastic job on the interior, it looks awesome!
I have the painless harness sitting in the garage. How did the install go? Any tips or problems?

thanks man.
the install was pretty simple. i had next to zero experience crimping wires before i started. ya there are a few things i can share that'd make it go easier.
If you didn't buy any brained wire sleeving, get some. And pay the extra $5 and get a split loom tool...it is worth every penny! And get yourself some twist ties like you find on bread bags. They make it really easy to hold wire together for just a few minutes and then release them after you've ran your line. Other than that, I only had 3 things that held me up during the install.
The first was running the cable from inside the cab to the engine compartment. Part of this was because I did the install with a lot of things already put back on the truck. You've got to be really careful not to let the wire get caught along the sharp metal edges.
The next is that i tried using my 67-72 ignition switch but it was kind of funky with their kit. I skippped the frustration and just got a '73-'79 F100 ignition switch. The kit already has the proper terminals to fit a '73 switch and its a lot easier to just use an updated one.
The last thing, and the most difficult was the turn signal switch installation. My original TSS was having a problem so there were too many variables with a new swich and new wiring. I bypassed a connector and just did straight bullet connectors. A test light worked wonders there.
The tech line is awesome so don't be afraid to call or email them!

Got the truck painted. Very happy with the outcome of it. Plus a few features added!
![Image](http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo199/Kmcypress10/IMG_7441_zps6xymbvhj.jpg)
Installed the hood lip chrome. I know its not era correct (only on '70+) but i think it really dresses it up. Also had new front and rear (slider!) windshields done at the same time.

Here's a shot of the door panel all painted w/ the interior.
![Image](http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo199/Kmcypress10/IMG_7444_zpszbaasfl8.jpg)
Also had the tailgate handle shaved and a Mar-K hideaway handle installed. FORD letters match the saddle tan interior.
