I've often wondered about the ride on these since the old straight frame is so much more flexible vs how stiff the modern unibody. I wonder if the suspension will work or the frame will flex.

I did the home grown lizard skin on mine. Really neat to hold a shop light against the metal and not feel the inside get hot. After running the truck for a year I'm not sure how effective it really is. It didn't do much for noise abatement and the glass effects the inside temp more than engine heat. Actually, having a heater valve that shuts off completely would be even more effective at keeping the cab from roasting me.

We did some frame stiffening, I'll be reporting how it does. I am not as impressed with the Lizard Skin as I thought I would be. Going to add sound deadener on top of it. We will be using ceramic window tint. That stuff is awesome. We even cover the entire windshield with the clear ceramic. Cuts way down on heat.

I'll have to look into the tint once I do the window gaskets. The skin does very little for sound. Tar based stuff work well at deadening the booming sounds. I smeared the roofing sealer on mine and it was horribly messy but works pretty well. I also have carpet under the factory rubber floor mat on mine and that made a pretty big difference.

I went with fatmat on mine covered by denim insulation from home depot with the carpet with the mass backing . So far with the 3" exhaust just dumping under the bed it seems pretty quiet inside. I also did the roof and the back wall. Don't know about heat has been too cold to tell. Still working on hooking up the ac thanks again for the compressor.

Its a cool build but I just do not understand why the huge hole at the bottom of the firewall where you cut out the tie in from the original firewall to the tunnel?

Assuming that you are going to build some kind of a filler panel in there but now that you have all of your wiring going through there I have no idea how you are going to seal any of that up.

The firewall, is a structural panel for the cab of the truck.

There is a filler panel that goes there. I feel confident that the firewall and cab are strong.

Make sure it seals well. I found out last winter that a 1/4" hole will make my feet cold no matter how hot the rest of the cab is.

That's an awesome build man! I wish I had your ability. Would love to stick a Coyote in mine. I have to have outside help and that is expensive. I really need to win the lottery!
