Well, last Friday the front half of the truck made the trip to the paint shop! :woohoo: Two of my brothers and my nephew came over to help me load and unload at the shop. My Supercrew got the job, it doesn't get much road time, so I'm sure it was happy to get the gig. It was kinda tough deciding how/where to load everything, and I know it's going to be a lot harder coming back after everything is painted. Just a short 30 minute trip down I-44 and we were there.

Honestly, I don't think I was this excited the first time we painted this when I was 15!! (20 years ago) I really can't wait to see it that beautiful blue again!! :D

Thanks, Randy! I am very proud, and very nervous all at the same time. Proud because it's been a long road, (with a lot more road to go), and nervous because you're never really sure how well your bodywork is until that clear goes on. Clear coat doesn't lie, it will highlight everything you missed or didn't think was a big deal.

So I've started ordering everything I'm going to need so start putting things back together. I got my first box of goodies from Dennis Carpenter last night. (weatherstripping kit, fender seals, hinge springs, etc.) This stage of the build is going to get expensive, quick!

I am close to making a decision on seat cover/carpet/headliner/visor/steering wheel and column colors. I ordered some carpet samples from Stock Interiors because I'm not sure what color interior I'm going to go with yet. I ordered samples of the 80/20 loop type carpet, as I think it fits the era of the truck the best. I held my door panels back from paint (using the non-ranger panels - like the look better), as I'm not exactly sure if they'll be body color or some interior accent color.

Has anyone used a headliner from Stock Interiors? Reviews on the site sound pretty good, but none are from bump owners.

Thanks guys! I can't wait for more progress either!

I'm busy going through catalogs and deciding where to order what from. Mac's has a great selection, but their shipping rates are based on total cost (hate that), which means they lose every time to Dennis Carpenter, who is the one supplier who finally has a believable shipping policy.

I've started seriously looking at Gauges, Carpet, Lighting, Harness, Audio, Interior Colors, etc, - it's getting pretty overwhelming!

Here are some more spy shots from the paint shop. Progress there seems slow, I hope to see more this week.

I've had the best luck dealing with Dennis Carpenter in the past. Mac always had something I needed on back order every time I would order from them. With other Ford restorations I have done and with my bump truck I have also used Auto Krafters with good results. I used a Stock Interiors headliner on a 67 f100 I restored for a customer and I was impressed with the fit. I used a company off EBay on my green 68 and it's the thin plastic kind wrapped in vinyl and its OK on the fit but a pain to put in by yourself.

Thanks, guys!

I stopped by the paint shop on Friday. Looks like it's going to be a few more weeks there. That's okay, they're just working on it when they can in between big jobs, which I understand and am fine with. I'm in the middle of a little shop cleaning and remodel anyway. I want the truck to come home to a clean place to work on reassembly. Also, I'm nearly ready to bring the bed to the shop for bodywork. So I need to section off a dirty area for that, and a clean area for assembly. Good news is, I have plan on how to do that.

I will be building my own electrical harnesses for this truck with a complete re-wire from front to back, so I've been working on laying that out and ordering parts for it too. I'll show you guys once I start laying it out on the jig board.
