I've been working on the 4x4, got the doors off the parts truck on. I had to weld up the trim holes but other than that they're good solid doors. Also got both front fenders off, smoothed out and primed and ready for paint. Here's a couple of pics of the doors. I'll get some pics of the fenders tomorrow.

As promised here's a few pics of the fenders, tailgate, and front valance.
I started painting the front pieces this morning so some pics are of the first two coats of Rustoleum Regal Red, and some pics are primer. I'll update as progress allows. :D

Some pics of first two coats of paint on the other fender and valance. The Regal Red paint was brighter than I thought but I like it.

Not a bad day. (for me anyway) I got 4 coats of paint on the passenger fender, 4 on the valance, got the final sanding done on the drivers fender and 2 coats of paint on it. I would have gotten another round of paint done but looks like it might rain this evening. Hopefully in the morning I'll get two more coats of paint on and finish the body work on the drivers side door. I took off from work until tuesday or wednesday so I should get a pretty big chunk of work done, if nobody forces me to go fishing!

It looks brighter in the pics than it really is. It's accually more of a medium red.

Here some pics of the tailgate. It's off a 71 Ranger and had the wide tailgate trim. I also have a tailgate from a 72 camper Special that has the narrow trim. I've been trying to decide wether to use the wide trim, the narrow trim or maybe plugging the holes and painting the FORD letters white like a Custom. The bed I'll be using has the taillight trim with 3 screws. any suggestions?

Here's the finished tailgate and the hood with 2 rounds of paint. (4 coats) The tailgate came out real smooth, very little orange peel. The hood on the other hand has quite a bit of orange peel and dog hair from my two labs. The wind came up while I was painting and I could see dog hair settle on to the wet paint. In the morning I'll wet sand the hood and see if it comes off. I'm going to put several coats on the hood and the top of the cab for alittle more protection from the sun.

Here's the hood after wet sanding this morning and 2 more coats. Wet sanding really smoothed out the orange peel. The dust and labrador hair is just on the surface, not stuck in wet paint.
