Hey EZ...
I hadn't done anything with the MC 'cause I was thinkin' about replacing it.
I have all the stuff to change over to 4 piston disc brakes..
Just having power brakes is gonna be awesome after having manual ones for the last 20 years...

Hey Guys...
Well, I made alot of progress this week, but still have a lot of work to do...
Last night, I made myself a check list of things left to do on this phaze of the project...
I had big hopes of getting everything done by today so I could bring the beast home... there's a lot more to do than I thought...
Here's my list of things left to do.....
Make new starter & battery cable
Grease and adjust z-bar and pedal travel adjustment
Change tranny gear lube and change B/up light harness plug
Install shifter
Install tranny hump cover and boot
Rewire steering column plug
Install steering wheel
Install instrument panel
Hang exhaust pipes
Install radiator support
Install P-side inner and outer fender
Install radiator and new hoses
Install windshield washer tank
Hook up all the wiring
Install 390Nut's headlight harness
Install battery box
Paint and install grille
Paint and install hood hinges
Install gravel guard
Install bumper
Change motor oil
Put coolant in the radiator
Hook up the battery and FIRE IT UP !!!
Check everything for leaks
Clean up the hood and put it on...
Drive the puppy home
Bleed and adjust brakes... brake pedal engagement adjustment???
If you guys can think of any other pre-flight things I need to check let me know...
Thanks Guys,
KaptnKA S

re: 68 CS Project: update 2/23/08
Yeah...
That's probably a good idea Pipes...
Yeah '71 ... I got that done.. thanks for the info...
Today I got the tranny install finsished...
I learned that the '68 style reverse light switch is obsolete and you can't get them any more...
The newer style now has two round prongs instead of male spade clips.
I was able to get the newer style pigtail (no one sells these either) and a nice trans hump cover...
I got those installed along with the shifter...
Installing the shifter itself was no easy task...
I wanted to keep my shifter with the new tranny 'cause I did like the way the one was bent...
I learned that the two pins on the tranny top that holds the shifter retainer are differant.. the older style pins are about 1/8t of an inch shorter than the newer ones... I should have taken pics (I was too into the moment)
I punched the pins on the new tranny with out incident, but busted the cover on the old tranny trying to get those out...
Anyway I got them installed and now tranny is completely installed...
Just FYI an NP-435 holds exactly 1 gallon of gear lube after being drained...
Here's a shot showing what I got done today...
I did notice that I don't like the baby blue column with a black steering wheel...
I think a black column would look better wth the stock black wheel.

Looking good bro! You'll be driving that puppy in no time!
I hope to pull the front clip off of mine and do the same thing in a year or two!

Hey Guys,
Well, it's Sunday morning, vacation is over and the CS still ain't runnin'
Close but no cigar...
I did learn something this week though...
I'm glad that mechanikin' is just my hobby, you couldn't pay me enough to do this full time...
It's only been a week and I feel like I've been drug through a knot hole sideways...
I shoulda took stock in Ibuprofen before I started, I would dang near be able to pay someone to do the work for me...
Tomorrow, it's back to the grind of workin' 8:00 to 4:30 in my nice cushy office... (something I thought I'd never say)
Progress is gonna slow down for a while as I'm not gonna be able spend full days on it except for Saturdays...
Instead of posting a new "Things left to do list" each week, I'll be editing the list on post 35... the ones in blue are the ones I've finished...
It's about time for me to head out to my other gig...
In my free time, I'm a church musician and worship leader...
I'd much rather do that full time than anything else...
Take care Guys and be blessed...

Kaptn, being a mechanic by trade sure is handy if you like old iron. However it can make for some long project times. Some days I just don't have the ambition to work on my bump projects after 10 to 12 hours in the shop.

Yeah AlleyCat,
I can totally appreciate that...
I spend most of my day on the phone wheelin' and dealin', so to speak...
At home, I have the ringer turned off on my phone, and only turn my cell on when I need to make a call...
