Pics of my 71's Progress

Post by sport71 »

The scoop really gives the hood a nice touch. I just set it in with the studs but didn't bolt it on yet.

The turn lights and the scoop will be functional. Sorry I didn't get the picture of the hole in the hood, I will once the truck is together.

The motor is really a board out 390, but no one will know that, only the people who read this will really know.

The fenders, bed, ash tray, and glove door got some paint as well.

The cab will be painted tomarrow...
When it's all done she will be wet sanded and buffed.
This little paint shop really does good work. I'm very pleased..

The rear end will be getting the disk brakes installed tomarrow.

The gas tank was put in today.

The shop cat takes care of inspecting everthing (how about that?)

It's a 1968 mustang I think.
I'll just leave it for looks and not cut the hole. I'm not to sure though.
What do you think??

without/with the hole looks great, with the hole extra airflow for the carb/air cleaner, are you gonna run the oval shaped cleaner housing? or round?

With the hole in it won't be like the chevies with the backwords facing scoops and no hole.

with the hole and a realy cool looking/functioning cleaner everyone will know its for performance.

iether way it does look cool.

Looks like paint is really turning out nicely. I like the hoodscoop as well. I don't know whether I would cut a hole in the hood or not though...

Hood hole

Post by sport71 »

Well it's too late, the hole was cut today, and I forgot the camara to take a picture
It was cut in a triangle shape, I know that sounds dumb but just wait to see how nice it looks once it's all put together.
It actually looks real good, :D and it will have cool air flowing down to the breather..

I like the sound of the functional scoop. Just wasting time otherwise. Not to mention the air that would trap under the scoop while going down the road without a hole. Looking great.

I'm getting all stainless steel bolts, nuts, and washers this week. The truck will be on the frame like in 2 weeks.
I was going to put it all together at my dads shop, but i decided for the paint shop to put it together, incase of any scratches, they will be responsable. they charged me $500 more.
I'll be doing the rest like wiring, lighting, A/C, ect. :help:
Wish me luck It's almost done. :woohoo: :D

Good luck...you're almost done!

I am looking forward to seeing it all put back together. My truck is white at the moment and I am thinking of keeping it that way when I eventually re-paint it.
