Why do you want to relocate the gas tank? If its for "saftey" ....I remember the owner of this website saying if you get hit hard enough in a wreck to rupture the in cab gas tank you're probably dead anyway. Which is probably true, so moving it is a waste of time in my opinion.

Well, I'm not particularly fond of my little girl breathing gas fumes on a regular basis. So, if I am to continue using the 71 as a daily driver, the tank will be moved.

Thats odd, my truck has no fumes in the cab. If it did I probably wouldnt smoke in there.

Seriously man, if you are thinking about putting a chevy motor into your ford truck just so you can have a daily driver, you're not thinking to clearly.
