Engine is gorgeous  Should later post video of its sound..
Questions: did you re-paint the engine block? if yes, what's the color code/brand? brand of the converter?

Thanks Mate

Very Nice build. Body work looks primo, what color are you going with?

I like the tubs, in the process of doing the same to the daughters 67, did you hand fab? And if so what guage steel? I was thinking of ordering some from Jegs and just welding them in as opposed to getting a beadroller to try and match the existing metal.

Did you stroke the motor? How big a spray are you going? Sorry for all the questions but we plan on ditching the small block over the winter and going big.

Anyway, beautiful work, I'm subscribed

Nice lookin motor....I also went with the CVF set up...still mocking it up on my 390. I've got a 92 taurus alt and it's a bit of a sqeeze in his bracket, but not sure if the Alt. is the year best suited for this :?

What alt. would be the best fit? Do you have a high mount or low mount on the

engine?

Blueovaldave,

I bought my tubs from Summit Racing. I bought the 38" ones. I opened up the wheel wells to the leaf springs and that gives me 17" to play with. I riveted mine in encase I want to go all the way to the frame later and put ladder bars or a four link under it. I bent a lip on the edge that goes against the bedside and riveted there too, then I sealed up everytthing and shot some good primer on them before shooting rubberized undercoating on the bottom side.

cancow,

I was also looking at trying the Taurus alternator. I tried a 130A off a 94 Stang and it was to big. I plan on going to the boneyard and finding a mock up alternator prior to spending money on a new or rebuilt one.

Panski,

I painted the block with Ford Blue ceramic engine paint from Duplicolor. The converter is from Revmax.

I bought a Harbor Freight Powder Coating Gun a couple of years ago when it was on sale. I bought some 2-stage "Chrome" powder coat media from Summit Racing to try out on some of my Speed Bump parts. I spent a couple of hours yesterday doing a few pieces...they definitely look way better with the "chrome".

For what its worth, I went with the 3 g alt from a taurus and it works really well. At one point I was running an electric fuel pump and electric fan and it did the job.

I made some more progress on project "Speed Bump" this weekend. I made a bracket for my line lock out of aluminum and polished it to give it some "bling". I also bent and flared a brake line to incorporate it into the front braking system. Long smokey burnouts coming in the future! 8)

I finished installing a pair of lightweight bucket seats this weekend. The total weight for the pair of seats, mounting frame, and the stock bench seat sliders is 48 pounds. I weighed the stock seat and it weighs 80 pounds so I lost 32 pounds with the race buckets.

i made a frame out of 1" square tubing and it bolts to the stock sliders so that both buckets move like the stock bench seat did.
