haven't done a whole lot on my Bump for a while. Just driving it :) It's been about 3 years since I got it. Yesterday I put a chrome differential cover on the pumpkin. I am actually starting to do some of the body work today. I took all week off from work and am going to focus on prepping the body for paint. I'm tired of it looking like a piece of junk.

Today I spent way too much time tinkering with my heater fan trying to make it more efficient and quieter. Now it's louder and works less.

re-routed my PCV system and tried again to get my pan mounted dipstick tube to seal. I'll let it sit for a day then hopefully with less crankcase pressure it will hold better. Also installed bulb sockets in my 3 gauge cluster so I can see them at night.

Got one wheel painted, a new b.f. goodrich tire mounted, one more wheel stripped, picked a bunch of wires out of my hide, painted the other wheel and the clutch z bar. Got new rear drums delivered, ordered new studs and lug nuts. Passenger side door metalwork completed and coated with Reface and final sanding begun. For the record, this is the last removable part to paint. Cab and bed almost ready for paint. 2010 Ford Oxford white single stage. Pics are posted here and there on the Acme Automotive Facebook page.

Tomorrow will be more of the same. Should be able to pick up 3.03 and order clutch kit. Once that's in, rebuilt 490 "should be" ready to install. Now that all the money has been spent, I expect to spend some more money

Drove it on a 200-mile round trip this weekend. Listened to the Grand Ole Opry on clear channel am, 650 WSM. About 12 mpg.

Bolted down the freshly painted bed. After the honey do list I'm gonna start the body work on the hood.

Took the tank out and painted one side, new wheel studs and drum on one corner, covered bed in Reface, welded up some trim holes, sanded on the cab, installed one wheel cylinder and tore the garage apart looking for my tail light that I carefully bagged and tagged and then apparently hid very thoroughly. Am currently in the market for a pair of tail lights and trim for a '71 SC.

A very time consuming day for what seems to be little progress.....I fabricated a bracket to mount the disc/disc proportioning valve I need to install on the frame, I cleaned and painted several brackets in preparation for mounting, inspected my flywheel and trying to determine if I should grind it or not, and searched all over trying to find the little dammit that the clutch pivot attaches to on the block side!

Found the lights about two hours after I ordered new ones, finished the tank, did some metal work on the rear apron, dropped off flywheel for resurfacing, wrote out checks for my eager crew and told the painter I had changed my mind about the color just to mess with him. Still staying with white.

Well today, in preparation for nightshift, I planned on pulling an all-nighter on the truck, ad started about 2 PM. I mounted my proportioning valve on the bracket I fabricated, and routed the front brake lines. Then I located the second clutch lever pivot in my bucket of diesel and commenced cleaning it up. Painted some parts in preparation for installation, put a few in the solvent tank, and cleaned the shop up a little. I started working on the rear brake line from the proportioning valve to the hose, when my wife walked in and said I had thirty minute to get ready for a surprise date night......

Needless to say I am done with the truck for the night!

Differential finally went out. It had been making noise since I got the truck and was just a matter of time. $1,300 to get it fixed :x I've been painting the truck. A panel a day using the Rust-Oleum, Satin finish "Oregano". You can't even tell it was done with a Rattle can. The little flaws don't jump out at you so much using the Satin finish. I recommend it for anybody going this route. Cost me about $120 to paint it.
