Re: What did you do to YOUR bump today?
I replaced all 3 u-joints and the carrier bearing. Waiting on my drivers door seals so that I can put the door glass back in. Today I'll replace the steel fuel line from tank to fuel pump. Waiting on my adjustable master cylinder pushrod from Master power brake in order to finish that project. Come on Fed Ex!!

Re: What did you do to YOUR bump today?
Priced the paint (red) and clear coat I need to paint the truck! Wow, scary when you want to get the good stuff! Oh well, I suppose I'll sell a few Hot Rod parts, save up some more coin, and go for the good stuff!
Other then that, waiting for the weather to warm up a bit so I can hit my favorite U-Pull-It and do some searching for a good 5 speed to put in it. I've got a lot of the small parts stripped and primed and want to block the whole truck one more time and shoot some sealer on it. Going to paint the firewall and fenderwells, install the engine and transmission in the truck before putting things back together and readying the truck for paint!
I'm new here and spent some time going through this thread and a bunch of others, there's some really first rate bumps going together by the members here! Learning a lot and gaining a lot of ideas and information, thanks to everyone for sharing so much good information on their projects! Sure is nice to have mine close to done, almost time to start looking for another one! Mine's a long box and thinking I want to do a short box also!

Used the old bench seat as part of our obstacle course for our 4x4 RC trucks (it's in the bottom, left hand corner of the pic). We folded it flat and ran the course down through the springs in the back.

Thanks! Outdoor courses are a little easier to build. Indoor courses require quite a bit of creativity. A lot of people hear us talk about RC cars and automatically assume we play with toys we find at Wal-Mart. Check out "scale RC crawling" on youtube if you want to get an idea of what we really do!flyboy2610 wrote:Well that's certainly being creative!

Finally got the cab painted on my 71. Looking forward to finishing all the other body parts so I can start putting it back together. The color is Ford Flame Blue Metallic.

Re: What did you do to YOUR bump today?
My junkyard brake booster turned out to be bad... it worked too good. It would internally "lock up" and not release the applied vacuum. Before, my test runs around the block would result in having the gas pedal almost to the floor pulling up to my driveway. Lesson learned...

Installed flywheel on the motor then installed clutch/pressure plate/throw out bearing, and followed up by installing the transmision.

I replaced all the glass runs, anti-rattlers and window regulator on my 67 campers special. I'm waiting on one clip before I can put the door panel and new arm rest back on. Then it's time to address the headliner, and seat upholstery. This should pretty much complete the interior.

Re: What did you do to YOUR bump today?
Just got back from a 4 day weekend of what my girlfriend and I bought the bump for -- dirt biking and camping.
351 miles round trip from Coeur d'Alene Idaho to Juniper Dunes Washington, 10.9mpg, and a fantastic time all around. My riding buddies all loved the truck.
Now that this annual trip is out of the way I can start digging into fixing the things that I was afraid to start on before the trip -- didn't want to get stuck mid-repair and not be able to make it so I figured better rough and ready than possibly missing the action. First up is removing the broken exhaust manifold bolts, then putting on new headers, then doing a carb rebuild. After that she should be even better for the next outing.

Re: What did you do to YOUR bump today?
Back in the mid 80's I went to Iowa to spend a few days with my cousin who lived on a farm. He had a pair of yellow Yamaha dirt bikes. By the time we were done with them it was impossible to even tell what color they were!

Installed my air cleaner, and actually pulled it out of the garage under its own power for the first time in 3 Years

Re: What did you do to YOUR bump today?
Replaced the goofy factory throttle linkage bracket with a rod that I made. It works way better, no slop, much more driveable.
Also replaced the instrument cluster bezel with a new one from Dennis Carpenter.
