Very cool rendering! He is an amazing artist and thanks to him he can really show people the potential of these trucks.
My frame was halfways done when I first saw this
rendering.

That mod motor fits pretty nicely in there. Not my first choice for a powerplant, but it will be a clean install when it's done. :D

Are you going to make some kind of gaurd under the oil filter? Most of the newer trucks have a little V shaped piece of sheet metal under the filter to kind of funnel the oil into the drainpan. I wouldn't want you to get oil all over your nice steering rack!

Looks very nice so far!

i think they are wider then they are long. we put one in a 67 mustang after we put a mustang II under it. was still a tight fit and we cut the crossmember for the pan so it would easier to get in and out.

Yeah there are almost square, I left my book with the dimensions at the shop, but the SOHC motors are a little narrower than the DOHC. THat'd be fun in that Mustang!

a memember on here owns the car, rattlecan. heres another tight fit. a 55 ford with a 7.3 powerstroke. its alot bigger then the 460 that was in there. wiring it is the fun part. i think your truck needs a supercharger!

You bet, except that I'm a "little guy" just like anyone else here! I just have a job that comes with 100,000 people scrutinizing everything I do every month which can be good and bad...Let us know how your '63 goes.

Hey Grant, I went back through my old issues and I didn't see you touch on the "Z"ing of the front clip or how you streached out the wheelbase. I don't remember seeing it at all. Did you cover that at all in the mag? I was thinking I missed something. Am I going crazy? :loco:

The project is coming out amazing. I look forward to every issue. Keep up the great work.

Hope the sticker I sent you found a good place. :P

No, you didn't miss anything! That all just happened and remember there's about a 2 month lead time for the magazine to get printed and shipped, etc. So this will all be in the August issue on sale June 5th I believe.

Hey Grant,I'm not bashing just curious, why did you put your four link bars on the outside of the frame rails? My guess would be for exhaust clearance being that your truck is really low.I was just thinking that you could get so much more tire under it with the bars on the inside.Don't get me wrong I love what you have done and can't get enough. The magazine just can't get here quick enough.I'm glad I found this post to get my fix of your project.Keep the updates coming even if it's just installing one bolt.I've become a subscriber just for this build so I won't miss a thing. What body mods do you have planned?TIA,Calvin

Hey Calvin,
I had to put the links on the outside of the frame rails because the frame is so narrow it would have a terrible roll center if I did that, plus I wasn't planning on putting huge tires on it. I guess if you were building a Pro Street truck you may have to do it like that, but I'm planning on driving the truck quite a bit on the street and long distance out on the highway at 80 mph and I want it to have good road manners.
