Keep up the great work.
Thanks Mug and I'd say it's pretty close! Especially since I'm working nights right now for about another month (red eyes)!

Hey f100builder...

That looks great...

edit: hey f100 builder what happened to the white roof ???
I really liked that... there's somethin' really nostalgic about the flat black, white and red combo...

I checked out the Hot rod Flatz that you mentioned... nice stuff
I really like the light aqua.. it's really close to the Harbor Blue I used on the steering column...

Thanks guys! Hey marz, how's the IFS coming along? I lost track of it and wondered if you had a working prototype yet.

F100builder,

Man that is looking great. I am amazed at how much you did in so little time.

You definitely have inspired me to get moving on my 69.

Thanks for the great photo coverage of the work you've done. Good stuff.

I love the black with the red wheels.

Thanks Kaptn. I didn't want to ask Mug to change my T-shirt design and have to order more shirts! Actually, I didn't care for the white roof at all. I couldn't get past the state trooper thing. All it needed was a big gold star decal on the doors! Update coming soon! Not much but a little more 8) added!

I'm in the middle of installing a brand new wiring harness in my '69 and have 3 different instrument clusters (one has idiot lights) and an F600 bezel only. I wasn't sure any of them even worked and wasn't crazy about adapting/modifying the new harness anyway. One cluster's bezel was cut up by a previous owner and so I got to brainstorming about a cool, custom, dash insert that would fit the 'look' I have planned for my bump.
DIAMOND PLATE!
Image
Don't worry. The bezel was already cut up (not the F600 one either) so I modified it further so I could fasten the plate to it:
Image
I sanded and repainted the bezel argent silver and mounted the VDO Cockpit style gauges. Then, I fastened the plate to the bezel with stainless buttonhead screws and locknuts:
Image
And presto!
Image
Here's a shot that shows the radical 32" shifter! I plan on swapping out the knob for a funky 'rat rod' looking one with a little more attitude. I also still have a few circuits to go as well as getting the rest of the dash together (ash tray, glove box door, radio, etc.). I also plan on drilling more holes in the diamond plate to install green LED's or small lights for the turn signal indicators and a similar blue one for the high beam indicator.
Image

So, what do you guys think? I know it may not tickle everyone's fancy but I like it and I haven't destroyed or hacked up any good original or hard to find stuff. I can't wait to hit the road!!!

Looking good! one of these days I'm going to have to come over and see it in person... and  all over your 56. :D
I found some pictures of the 56 my dad had when I was a kid, I'll have to post on the site sometime after I get them scanned. :)
