My 71 F-100 was built in Norfolk and stayed in Virginia all it's life till I got it.
My wife's grand father lived in Halifax, VA and owned the general store in town.
This truck was bought new and he got rid of a 1948 ford to buy this one. He passed about five years ago at 96. The truck had quit on him in the field behind the house as he was taking some stuff down to burn. He was 94 at the time and it sat in the field for two years with the drivers wing vent open, grrrr..... When I went down to work on it I found out that it was just out of gas. I got it started and put it back in the barn till I could haul it back.
I went down in 06, got a U-Haul trailer and pulled it home to WV.
I first saw the truck in 1982 and told him then, if he ever wanted to sell it, give me two days and I'll be down.
They used to tease me that I took more pictures of the truck when I went down there than I did of the kids. I scanned some of the old pictures in the past but can't find them right now. The family made sure I got the truck when he passed and I thank them for that (course no one else wanted "that old truck")
The shed section you see in the picture was on the side of the barn and that's where it spent it's entire life.
When I titled it in WV, they would not let me keep the original title. I was pretty bummed about that.

My 72 was built in Canada, shipped thru Pittsburgh D.S.O. to a now defunct dealer in Heidelburg which is about 20 miles south of Pittsburgh. The original owner bought it from the dealer. I bought it from him in June of '07. It now resides about 20 miles north of Pittsburgh.

My 67 went thru Denver D.S.O. then somehow made it's way to North Carolina then on to PA in late '05. I bought it from a car lot in January '07.

Same here!

Sure would like to know what dealership mine went to, though. I found a vintage metal "Stone Mountain Ford" license plate frame on e-Bay and will add that over my 1970 GA tag. It would be so cool to know where the truck started out at, though. I'm only a half-hour south of Atlanta so it is possible that my truck stayed local it's whole life.

My 70 LWB that I purchased after my first post on this topic was built at the twin cities Minnesota plant. She spent most of her life in minnesota until about 2005 when she was brought to Indiana where I eventually bought in '10.

Mine was built in San Jose in early '72 and shipped to WA for sale in Oregon. Things get fuzzy after that. At least two different kids down in southern Oregon owned it in the early '00s before I bought it in '06. It's definitely seen its share of "modification" from past owners, don't know if it lived a hard life all its life, or just toward the end when I got it, but yeah, she's been "around the block", for sure.

my ol' pig was built in feb of 69 in San Jose, was sold in Vancouver B.C. then spent most of its life in Ontario before being brush painted with enamel house paint -in two tone to match the original paintjob that probably only really needed a cut polish to look good again...and then driven back out west hauling a pretty fair sized cargo trailer to Nanoose B.C where i got my hands on it.....
- still got my first first car 20+yrs later : 69 f100 sorta kinda pretending its a Mercury M100 w/a 70 f350 sport custom cab (factory buckets) 67 grille with 69 ranger cooneyes 68 merc box and hood, some supercool fiberglass fenders i scored way back when, 76 f150 disc brake frontend..currently running a 90 5.0HO 4bbl/c4 auto & 3.50 posi...originally a 360/c6 f100 Ranger with dealer added towpack (incl. kelsey hays trailer brake),boxside toolbox, behind the seat stowage & belly tank...only original parts left on 'er are the frame, rear end, rear springs, and rear bumper...

My 69 was built in Northfork , and shipped to Jacksonville,Fla. and was then sold to a dealer in S. W. ga. where a farmer bought it and used it as a Sunday go to meetin" truck. It was bought after his death by a guy to haul trailers for a trailer manufacture. He then started to redo the truck but gave up on it and sold it to me. He had removed the rear bumper and brackets and put a rollpan on the back and had the original 302 rebuilt with a stronger cam and intake and 4 barl. All that is gone now.

Well, i bought my current bump ('67 ranger) from the original owner who bought it new from Hemphill/McCombs here in San Antonio, Tx.

My '74 Chevy Nova came from Ancira Winton here in San Antonio, Tx. I got it from the original owner's neighbor's daughter. She bought it and just parked it in her back yard.

Oh, I got another bump or two. The '68 F750 came from North Carolina Dept of Forestry. They got it from the US Army (or other branch of military). The NC Forestry Dept used it to haul a portable bridge involved in fighting forest fires and the like.

I got a '67 step side from a lady who lives in Marble Falls, Tx. I don't know the rest of the history on it but i doesn't have the original engine or transmission anymore. They said it came from a Torino. 400M/C6 I believe.

Right now we also have a '99 Suburban, an '83 Mercedes 240d 4spd, and an '82 Chevette 4spd(not running). The burban and mercedes are my wife's cars which I bought for her.

Mr.Majestyk was born on 02/25/1970 at the San Jose plant as a sold retail unit
to Carlsbad Motor Co. in Carlsbad New Mexico and delivered on 03/09/1970

Judging by the equipment, 360 V8, Warner T-18 4spd, 3.73 Dana 60 limited slip rear axle
Ammeter & Oil Pressure Gauges, Oil Bath Air cleaner, Spare Tire, Body Side Moulding
Manual AM Radio, Extra Cooling Package, Heavy Duty Rear Springs. It spent it's life as
a work truck, dual fuel cells were added as well as a manual hoist in the rear of the box.

The person I bought it from purchased it through an estate sale and his buyer bailed on him
the truck had been sitting since 2003 in the Arizona desert and home to many critters and reptiles
but it did start and run, however the water pump leaked.
So after that was replaced the RS head was leaking, removing the valve cover the rockers were very
pitted but there was oil in it just on the sludgy side I knew I wanted this exact type of truck
since it was (except for the V8) just like the very first truck I was allowed to drive by myself
back in 1970 working on a farm in Northern MO.

So after installing a long block, having the radiator re cored, a complete clutch assembly and renewing
all four drum brakes. I'm just having a blast driving it 8)

Mine came from a guy in Colonial Heights Tennessee. It was the second owner. Originally was bought in Tazwell Virginia which is bout an hour from my house. My only interesting thing is it still has the original 72 Virginia plates that were put on it new.
