made some good progress this weekend. I was able to do some test fitting on the truck and get the doors aligned. Just have a few small spots to fix, prime the bed and check it for high/low spots, then she will be a go for paint. Hoping that I will be able to paint the truck, the weekend of May 12th.

okay, the truck is getting close to time to paint. It has taken a bit longer than expected to get it just right on the body work. My plan, at this time, that since my interior is gonna be Blue/White, i was looking at trying to do a close copy of this paint job for my truck:

i dont think that would look good on the bumpsides. the body line is nowhere near the click sides styling. keep it a sinple blue/black two tone with the bump being silver, if your set on those colors. dropping the two tone line down like he has, will just throw things off in my opinion.

I think it would work if you use the line of the bump rather than the hood. Aside from that, I think it would look pretty sweet. It would be nice to see a custom paint job on one.

I may have missed it, but do you have a write up for the mustang gas tank install Alvinator? With lots of pictures and measurements and technical stuff in it?

Thanks,

if you used the bump line instead it may work better, but I would look into getting just a chrome 50's style trim airbrushed on, instead of all those bubbles!

i did not do a write up on the gas tank. I just got a 20 gal Mustang tank, made a brace around the tank to attach the tank too, then I made four braket to attach the brace to the frame of the truck.

I agree. And bubbles.... :hmm:

Anyway, if you are looking at the quality of the example you posted, you will end up with something really nice!

I found a guy that does airbrush for a bodyshop across the street, said that he would do the airbrush on the truck and make it close to what is on there (making a few minor changes) and do it for $300.
