Ok, todays progress report:

Got a dent free glove box door from the bone yard
Finished removing all the trim, controls, gauges, dash pad, and panels
Applied POR-15 to the roof
Applied a bit of the final product to the fuel tank area

I CANT WAIT to get all the painting done. Details as I progress..

And here I thought I was gonna get yelled at for not working on my engine build first...

Honestly I was going to, but I can't have freshly upholstered seats in a grimey old cab. It's just not right.

Well, a bit of progress has been made. I found a good straight glove box door, ordered a mess of stuff from the truck shop (http://www.truckandcarshop.com), got a line on some seat belts, and finished painting the rear of the cab this morning. I'm actually using Duplicolor spray on bedliner for all the in cab metal. It looks great, it's tough, and covers up any imperfections spectacularly! I'll be using gloss white on the door panels, headliner, gauges, ash tray, and glove box door. My only problem is the cold; it's 15 degrees here this morning and all I can do is heat the cab with a space heater, shut it off, paint a bit until I think I'm about to asphyxiate myself, then repeat a bit later.

I like that spray on bed liner. I am going to use that for my gas tank. But first I have to get it out of the cab first. I have so many things going on at once it looks like a mixed bag of repairs going on.

I like it too; it's pretty versatile stuff. I've got a motorcycle helmet that I sprayed with it that has been beat on for years now and still looks good.

Got 2 cans of that spray. Depending on how ruff it is, I will do my firewall with it, after all the rust is off and it is primered well though. My wife picked up the cans for me and they are a good brand. I think rustoleum.

I can't speak for the Rustoleum; this is the Duplicolor brand and I've had good luck with it. I'm sure the Rustoleum sprays about the same since they are about the same price. It's definetly got a texture to it, but nothing like professionally sprayed liner that you see in beds. That stuff is like 1/8" thick.

Come to think of it, now that you wrote it, I am sure that she got duplicolor spray. $7.47 a can, I got 2. Going to take the tank out and do the front and back as well as spray it behind the tank to. Did you have to sand off all the paint behind there down to the metal. I would like to clean it and ruff it up a little then spray it on. send me a PM if you would.

Well, it's coming along! All the bedliner spray is done. I got the dash pad on and reinstalled most of the control knobs. Now I need to get the door panels and such painted. I still need to figure out the headliner too, but I have a good idea for that.

Here's a pic of the sun visors. Can you tell which one I cleaned first? I still need to use some bleech white on them.

The door jambs will have to wait till spring when it's not 20 degrees outside. I can't wait to start getting the panels in!

, The interior is coming along nicely! Before you know it the interior will be all buttoned back up and you'll be driving around with freshly upholstered seats . Also I really like the way that bedliner looks on your interior, bet the white door-panels will really set it off.

, I know how you feel! It has been abnormally cold here this winter, and the little bit of painting I have been trying to do between a few pieces from the bump and the "other" truck has been pretty tough it's pretty hard to keep the paint at room temp. when it's 20 degrees outside. Don't think my mom's too happy about me sitting up a small paint booth in the laundry room in the garage either .

Wow, just went through this thread. This is my ultimate dream truck (I'm sure I'm not the only one). But color, wheels, everything is dead on. It's like you're in my head! Shortly here, there will be a LWB F250 twin of your truck.

Thanks! I found the truck here on this site. I bought it from Doug Comer, who is an active member here and actually lives in northern Cali, and had it shipped to St. Louis.

Well, today I got all the door panels, the glove box door, and the ash tray painted and installed. I tried to do the gauges too but the paint fish-eyed on me real bad so I have to sand, primer, and repaint it. Check it out:




Sure wish I could do the door jambs, but overall I think it looks great. I can't wait to get the gauges and the headliner in. Any day now I should be getting a shipment that includes a black armrest for the passenger side, a chrome dome light, a new vent window handle, a glove box, plus some other odds and ends.
