today i set the bed on to make the access whole in the bed floor for the filler neck, all went well with a little elbow grease. this is just a temporary set-up until i can finish it out the way i want when body work begins  .

this is a shot of the filler neck under the bed.

i also covered the old cab filler whole metal work with some etching primer until the body work can commence.

I like the idea of getting rid of the in cab tank. Looks Good. Did you make or buy that fuel neck filler patch? Thanks

I am so steeling your Idea, I think that would run in my truck without me having to do to much to my new duall exaust I have running down it. I wonder if I would have to change to much on a long bed as far as moving the crossmember :? I still like that idea that is way 8) Can't wait to see it when it is all done!!!

joshpow,

I've been contemplating on not even putting it all back together and just going ahead and starting the bodywork, but the more news i watch the more my common since voice tells me to keep what $ i do have in my pocket until we see exactly just how bad this economy is gonna get :? so it may all be going back together for another season, I'm at least going to think on it long and hard before i let anymore money go right now

Yeah td, no kidding. I'm afraid to spend on my truck right now too. I'd love to see it progress, but it looks like our company is going to be tight on work next year. It'd suck to spend and credit a bunch of work and get in a hard place for a truck I may end up losing if the work really is that slow. I hope it gets better soon, because there are so many people out of work and so many more scared for their jobs. I don't see it changing too drastically though. All I can say is God help us. That'll be the only way we come out of this. Hope everyone here the best throught a tough time.

this is the best one i got right now for seeing the tank depth, with the bumper you will hardly see it if at all. when i get the bed and bumper back on i'll get a good pic of that angel for ya. while i did make the financial post i can assure you my wife strongly agrees with my line of thought on the matter

stangconv,

there's already 3 or 4 layers of junk to be removed before paint, i sure don't want to add to that. plus the mismatched panel to panel patina it has looks cool enough to suite me until i can swing a real paint job.
