Well I didn't go fishing today, seems the wife had planned on surprising me tomorrow with a fishing trip so I got started painting the bed instead. Here's some more pics.

The cable hanging underneath is a hookup for trailer lights that were in the front of the old bed (fifth wheel ?). I'll unhook the wires later. I'm also changing the tail light harness from the trailer to the pickup as the pickup had been spliced in several places for trailer lights, trailer brakes, and a couple of other things from the look of it. The tail light harness from the trailer was pretty much O.E. with a trailer hookup that was installed right so I went with that. I'll have to figure out the trailer lights later. Also discovered my rear axel seals are leaking again, this is the second set I've put on it so will have to see whats going on there. :x As you can see there's a few more things to do before it hits the road again, but when it does it should be in alot better shape. :D

Check your axle vent and tube, make sure it's not clogged. During normal operations a certain amount of pressure builds up inside, and that pressure needs to exit, via the vent tube. If it's clogged, then the pressure finds the next easiest exit route, which is past the seals.

I was gonna tell you that you have a nice-looking box, but for some reason that just sounded very odd.

I just came in from rolling on another coat on the box, it's pretty windy here today and cottonwood fluff stuck to the wet paint in afew places. I'll have to wet sand that out next time. If it's not gnats, or dog hair, it's cotton fluff! (man, I need a shop!)
Yeah Keith, that "box" phrase crossed my mind too, just have to give it lot's of caresses.

Well it rained all weekend here suns out today where I'm at the flood paln is below us in the next block , but we rarly get rushing water in our neighborhood . Other parts of Ft Worth are much worse and most of the horror stories you hear about around the metroplex are just folks being stupid.

I only got one thing done today, my vacation's over and I sat all day waiting to get called to go to work. Anyway, I painted the letters on the tailgate, rolled them out with satin white Rustoleum. Here's some pics.

that really looks sweet BC...

Thanks for takin' the time to do a step by step thread with pics.
Personally, I appreciate it.
I was thinking about trying this myself after reading the thread from the other site about the Charger. Now, after seeing you do it step by step, and seeing the results come together like they are, it isn't nearly as scary as it was. I am definately gonna do mine that way.
Do you recommend dismantling it like you did or can you do it whole with and only remove the trim?

Thanks again,
KaptnKAOS
