Calvin,

i had a role of wire that matched the stock sending unit wire so i just used a butt connector to join them. look were the in cab fuel line goes in the cab floor, there's a rubber grommet right beside it, i punched a little hole in it to run the wire through and used the butt connector to join onto the end of the existing wire. then tucked it out of the way in the corner of the cab.

here's a pic of the sending wire routed with the fuel line along inside the frame rails.

thanks josh. now that its all back together i find myself searching for another small (affordable) project to get under way. i cant drive it any in this nasty weather we're having here so naturally the next best thing is to work on it.
i have some sound deadening mat left over from doing the cab floor, so i'm going to do the rear cab wall were i removed the tank now, but i already know thats not gonna give me the (fix) i'm wanting so i'll have to find somthing else to do to go along with it  .

Screw it.. I am going to get the tank... I was planning on just putting the tank in the box and put a cool cover over it, but I am going to take the bed off anyways.. and it looks SO much better. Wonder why Ford didnt do this from factory, especially since they were already making these tanks.

stangconv,

these trucks were meant to be used as trucks back in the day, and I'd suppose they figured the tank didn't need to be exposed to the rough world the undercarriage of these trucks would be living in. just my :2cents:

i don't know about that KF100TK, its pretty tight back there for tail pipes, you'd have to run them outside the frame rails when you got to the tank with'em, and that would look kind of tacky even if it was doable. :(

No worries on the exhaust issue. I run mine in front of the wheels anyway!
