Here's what I'm working with!! ( 71 F-250 )
Just a few quick pics I nabbed.....(It's so new to me the for-sale sign is still in the window ).....It's gotta straight-6, 4-speed, divorced T-case (205?) D44HD and a D60 rear, 34,000 original miles and is a mix between a 71/67 (see sig), so I dunno how many miles are on the chassis. But it runs, stops, turns, and goes forward and backwards, so it's all I needed.
I'm just gonna change all the fluids, plow the driveway this winter and haul some firewood, then if I can finish my Dodge truck this winter, start tinkering on this come spring.
It's old enough so in Maine I can register it as an antique as long as I don't drive it everyday, and that means no inspection, and that *hopefully* means I won't be stuck with a max of 4" susp and 33's according to the lame lift laws.
So the plans are to rebuild a 76 360 with either 390 or 428 innards, lift it 6 or so inches, run 38's, and make it look pretty. I also plan on a disc brake swap on the D-60 with chevy discs and stuff, and other than that keep it ( body and interior, anyway) as original as possible, just funner.
But first I gotta get it home!! Oh, and my buddy sold it to me for $1,400, but was asking $2,000.

No, no....that's me being funny I'm gonna finish my other project first before I start on this one, then do it slowly, hopefully keeping it usable while it's going through "stages"67F250CS wrote:Nice truck. Have faith. The projects start slow and then turns into a love affair. Thats too nice to junk. Someone here will want it when and if you are tired of it.
And a side note, the grill says it's a 72, so I'll hafta decode the VIN when I get a chance.....

Well I got it home and put the plow on, and that seems to work well. It's also gotta A LOT more rust than I expected. Oh well........
The bad news.....my brother got a Ford a couple years ago and since I was all excited about my Dodge, I let him use my 360 for his Ford....Then he got a 2 wheel drive dodge and the stupid douche hauled the 360 (less than 20,000 miles on rebuild) to the scrapyard with other junk.
I also find out he "lost" my Clifford 4bbl intake, holley 350 cfm carb, and headers for the 300-6 he borrowed before the 360.
So now the asshole thinks he's gonna get some Dodge parts from me since I literally have enough parts to build a good 3 complete trucks......good luck with that.....
The only good news is my uncle has a 70-73 1 ton dually with a 360 that he may part with at a good price......
But here's a pic of the plow beside my 3" lifted and on 35's 92 I gotta finish before I start on the Ford.....

That is a nice truck. Don't loan any parts to your brother. Sell them to him at inflated prices. Tell him you're trying to get enough money for a new engine.

If I can't find any dodge parts that I'll need they'll all be going to the scrapyard, so no one will get them. Well, my brother won't, anyway
He has this thing, wether it was my T-bird, dirtbike, boat project, etc, that he'll "give ya $50 a month until its paid for", so that would be 1 year to get $600......and I'm sure he'd forget after the first $50 was sent....He's in serious debt (with the bank, credit cards, and my parents) so he can't buy anything big unless he saves the money, which is a hard thing for him to do.
I thought I'd be nice and help him out with some good parts so he'd actually have something nice to work with, but never again.....I'm glad he lives almost 200 miles away......
Anyway, rant over!!!
But my front support is almost gone, front floor mounts are rotted, bed is full of small holes, fenders have bondo, bottom of the doors have a little bondo, and I guess that's the worst of it. Oh, and the tailgate almost folded in half when I dragged the plow out over it. But other than that it ain't bad!!

Here's a quick pic of the dash pad torn off (still need to remove the brackets), undercoating on the floor, and no more seat cover...
