Yea, she is runng good, no ill effects, the overdrive is great, went from 2-3 mpg to 4-5 mpg  , fill her up with super and she goes a whole 100 miles.....

I was finally brave enough to replace the 6k msd chip withth 7k and give it heck, this truck will run!

Since going from the 2800 rpm 9.5" conver to the 2500 regular size, its much more driveable, not as brutal but the shaking of the motor is not transfered to the cab as bad. Now when I punch it from idle, it moves forward spinning through 7k and into second but at least it moves forward, with the old converter it would hit so hard and fast that it overpowered the tires and it would just sit there spinning. I can still just sit and spin if I load up the converter so donuts are still easy.
I know its quicker on the street now, but at the track with slicks it would probably be slower than before.

I still need to get good arm rest, the paint flacked off on the ones from LMC. I have to make a decision on the stero system. Either cut the dash for a modern unit :( or buy the old school and find a place for the cd changer or mount origional am in the hole and put new unit in the glove box, or I am looking for a cdplayer that does not require an head unit and has a rf remote.

I have a vibration when I take off, not all the time but sometimes it shutters, I will be driving to the trans shop on bossier city, la. one day this week to have it checked if anyone want to see it from La. let me know and I maybe able to schedule the day. It feels like the same problem cheby tahos have with the yoke.

:D Congrats, Just looked at all of your pictures and loved the sound of the engine. I know how it feels to win recognition for something you have put your heart into for a long time, I felt that way when I won second place in the truck division of the San Diego Mustang Clubs annual car show sponsored by JBA Racing here in San Diego last September. Jay and I are good friends and it was an amazing feeling for the recognition. You deserve the win, you have an super nice rig. I am thinking about installing one of the Dakota Digital dash units like yours. Was it hard to install and connect to the harness. I am flying to Dallas next weekend with my son to pickup a Silverado 3500 and driving back to San Diego so that will be a fun trip. Are you anywhere close to Dallas area, might have time for a peek at your truck if close.

The Dakota Digital was easy, using their senders and good grounding is the key.

I am about 130 miles east of Dallas off interstate 20, 20 is a nicer drive than 30, your welcome any time just let me know. Here is the map.

You could send an original am radio to the place where it will be converted into a modern am/fm, but maintain the look of the original. Here is the link http://www.turnswitch.com. I am still wanting to do this, but haven't gotten to it yet.

 Thanks for the invite Blue but 130m is a little far for us to drive since my son has to be back at the shop for inventory by Tuesday AM and we are flying out on Saturday and driving back. Maybe next time. Just got an invite this morning to enter into the SDMC show again this year here in San Diego on the 14th of October.
If you are in the mood to enter and enjoy a vacation on the west coast let me know and I can send you the info. Last year there were over 250 entries mostly Mustangs but they do have many categories to enter. Enjoy your nice truck. :fr:

Hey Blue about the radio post, take a look at the one in my truck with the headliner from LMC. It looks like the original and there is a remote option for an under seat CD changer. Mine works great, fits in the stock location and looks close to original. Its by Custom Auto Sound and they have improved their products a great deal since first introduced. It also has a connection for an iPod if you need it.

Congrats!!!! It has to be a good feeling to not only have your hard work show off in the driveway but also on the mantle in the form of a couple of trophies.
