Dive Shaft?

Post by jguajardotx »

Just took out the 3 speed on my 67 and am in the process of installing a c4. I noticed the c4 is longer than the 3 speed. Anyone had this problem before? Should I go looking for a drive shaft off of an automatic from 67-72 or cut the drive shaft? How would I measure the diff. if I gotta cut the shaft? :?

i dont know how to tell you tot do it but there are several way you could do it. put the old shaft back in it and measure how much it need to be shorted by the center of where the ujoints would ride in the c4 yoke. if you know what im talking about.

When ever I've had driveshafts made the driveshaft shop told me where to measure from with the vehicle sitting on the ground.
If I remember correctly it's from the end of the tailshaft housing where the seal seats to the flat part of the rear diff yoke where the u-joint straps go.
