This is my 69 f100 4wheel drive 240 6cyl 4 speed, It had been sitting for 19 yrs there were no floors to weld the cab mounts to so a cab swap was necessary, The black cab has all new floors and cab mounts it has all been undercoated and painted. just have to finish putting it together and new paint

Yep used a pice of pipe and an engine hoist to take the cab off and set the cab on it 's side and me and my brother set it down and from there on out was all me ,except getting the torgue converter installed
That's what I spend my summer doing.

69 ford f100/update

Post by fordguy63080 »

sorry no pictures, I didn't mention on my first post,69 f100 4 wheel drive.
I purchased this truck from a guy who purchased it from the original owner so i guess technally I am the third owner this guy bought it after it sat for 19 yrs, put on brand new tires, powder coated the wheels,<no brakes, didn't know if it even ran> and parked it in the barn for about a year then decided he didn't have time to fix it.
Brought it home put in new put in new points ran new gas line into can fired right up,<240 6 cyl> After some cleaning in the engine compartment found tag from st louis rebuilders, Truck only shows 103.000 so Im hoping the engine only has about 50.000
to 60.000 as you can see from the photos I have been working on it alot hopefully i will be driving it by late fall thats the plan anyway,To be an everyday driver.
Not bad for a 500.00 purchase price??, Had most of the parts left over from other projects,so not to costly.

I merged your 2 topics on this truck together, so that readers don’t have to search for the topic you referenced about and to keep all the info together. Just do a “post a reply” to your original Topic to add any updates to your info / progress. Thanks.

Nice looking truck and pretty good deal, keep us updated on your progress here.

Added some new pictures today, Haven't posted anything in awhile looking all the time but just posted some new pictures today. This is where im at right now interior almost done haven't got to far on the outside, Weather has just been awful here in central mo. not as bad as some but still to cold to work outside as I don't have a garage all work done outside, as soon as i get the right fender and the valance panel back from my buddy who is helping me out with the body work, another buddy is going to let me use his garage for just a little while to finish up the body work and paint it, It sure is nice to have friends who are willing to help out a little, My plans for late fall didn't quite work out but then again do they ever haha. anyway just click on the link to see the latest pictures. Any feedback good or bad is appreciated Thanks fordguy63080

Are you going to leave the 6 in it? Looks great! I would like to build another 4x4 someday. Keep the updates coming.

Looks like a good start. Painting the engine definitely made a difference to me. Looks like you had the vinyl door panels too, thats also part of the ranger package. What color scheme are you going to go for with the paint? I see some red but whats going to be red and whats going to be gray? Ben

If it were mine, I would Definitely do the stripe down the bump or something else. Maybe mimic the fat chrome trim on the bottom but paint it red with the gray stripes instead of Chrome with Black stripes. Just my :2cents:
