1969 Styling Proposal photos posted

Post by FORDification »

A short while ago I posted some rare vintage factory styling proposal photos dated 1969 for the 1972 model year. Well, I've just obtained a few more of these photos for the site.

The first is a photo sheet of the proposed styling for the 1969 models, dated May 1967. I just posted them to the following link:

I've got two more photo sheets that will be posted shortly, both to be additions to the already-existing '72 styling proposal photo page. :D

I'm glad they didn't adopt that grille! It's bugly!

Yeah... that would have not been good for sure...
Glad mine's a '68 'cause
'68's ROCK !!!
Besides, the proposed model change would have taken affect in '69 which would not have affected the '68's at all so it would not have been infected... er...ah... umm... affected !!!

looks like a brand x grill again. that tailgate was all smoothed off too. i like the tailgates we got now. did you se how they tried to wrap the wide molding around the back to match up with the ford plaque? that might have been ok if they had used the narrower trim to line up with it. and yeah that grill is bad looking for sure.

The grill looks like an older Jeep Cherokee or something. The tail end is kind of interesting, a lot better looking than the front.

I think the grill would have looked better if they had set the headlights in it some.... :? Interesting though, I wonder what they did with those body parts they they didn't adapt to the new truck :? Sure would be cool to find something like that laying around :?

thats what i thought when i saw the pictures. how RARE/awesome would that be to have the the proposal bump  it would be ugly but would have people confused :D i wonder where that bump is right now, or atleast that grill/tailgate.
