Re: shifter conversion
I'm using a B&M Z Gate on my 70 with the C6 I like it's pretty reliable shifter at first I had a hard time getting use to it but now I'm use to it.

Re: shifter conversion
I took "column 3 speed" to be a "3 on the tree" manual transmission.
Not much out there I have always used Hurst shifters, they have two models "expensive" and "more expensive". I expect the less expensive of the two would work fine.

Re: shifter conversion
They used to make them with a tall lever that came back over the seat. I think Hurst's was a Mystery Shifter but they may have had other models, Sparkomatic and Fenton were fair, you might try ebay.
I have a really good Hurst that supposedly was from a Ford. It would need a taller lever but that part bolts on. PM me if interested

Re: shifter conversion
I got a brand new Mr. Gasket that appears to be a knock off like hurst. It has the tall shifter that rolls back. New In Box. I don't know how well it works though. I gave up on the three speed before I put it in.
