Rear trim mod with slits

Post by sport71 »

Since I'm going with the 68 grill I thought this was a might be a good idea
I got all new wide moldings from LMC and they were labled with Denis Carpenter.
I had been thinking of covering the light hole for a while now. I did it today, check it out ...
Image
I took my dremal, and cut out a piece of old trim I had left over..
Image
Image
Then I sprayed it twice, with EZ OFF Oven cleaner, workes great..
Image
I know it looks rough, but with some good sanding you will get perfect...
Image
Next I grinded the lip on the inside of the molding even.
Image
Placed the polished piece, for a perfect fit.. I'll JB Weld it once I do the other side..
Image
Look...
Image
You see the slits..
Image

That's it with red light behind it, you won't see it in the day.. 8) :D
Image
Let me know what you think about this little mod??
