1972 f100/f250 custom sport.

Post by killakobra »

this is really a continuation of another members work. today i purchases a LWB frame, cab, and bed from beef 80 and plan to strip my stepside in order to complete it. i must commend tony for his hard work on the frame. it is beautiful. the cab is in good shape. no rear cab corner rust, front or back, other than a few spots of surface rust. the front cab mounts are even usable. it has stainless break lines, new shocks. PS box that I'm going to have to switch out. the reason it's a f100/f250 is that it is sitting on a 1970 250 frame with f100 drive train. enough of my ramblings, time for the pictures.

Image

i will take the crome molding off but i will leave the sport custom chrome. btw are these rear reflectors stock?

Image

our drive way is getting bumpy

Image

when it was first parked. the cab is tilted forward because the cab mounts arn't on it.

Image

here is a shot of the cab. look at how clean it is

Image

once again tony did a great job with the frame. it's eastwoods ? rust encapsulator.
are the front cross members on a f250 smaller?

Image

shows the cab mount holding the cab up. they are CLEAN

Image

more of tony's work. you can see the stainless lines here

Image

the badges i will be keeping

Image

the seat it came with

Image

not a dent in the room skin.

Image

the bed was kind of half !@#$( painted but the base white held up good. the ridges are hardly dented.

this is all i feel like posting. i'm really tired from the trip. we left at one AM and got home around 4:30. i'd like to thank tony one last time for giving me a good deal. it will save me alot of time :yt:

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

i've got both doors off of the '69 and have the driver's door bolted onto the 72'. how do you go about aligning them?

you line the door up with the bump on the back of the cab. it may take a few tries but it will work.

i've got it lined up but it doesn't close smoothly. the gap along the back isn't consistant and it pulls down when you close it.

Yes, those are the stock reflectors. :)

No, they are the same, but Ford changed the width of the cross member in 70 so the 70-72 are wider then the 67-69...

Looks like a good project.

I'm not "Brand Loyal" Ford-Chevy-Dodge-Toyota I have them all, one even cross mixed...
If it Looks good and Works good then it's ok by me. Everything has its issues from time to time...

dad found a truck box at the dump today that i may use on the truck. only thing wrong is the drivers side latch is bent. easy fix

Image

i also put the wide rears on the LWB. i think they'll look nice once i get the sides de-kinked.

Image

i will be welding in the floor pans sometime this week. i'll try to take pics.
