Post by 1982 flareside »

I figured everybody can put a post on this. What is y'all favorite food. My favorite is snapping turtle. Good but nasty to clean.

Call me old fashioned, but I like my steak done on my charcoal grill, with some of my world famous potatoes (OK So There Only Famous With My Friends and Family) and a good salad!

It would have to be Mexican and I mean the real thing. Not any of the big chain restaurants, they are not bad but it's not real Mexican. The best food, in my opinion, can be found in the small, humble looking shacks (in Mexico of course) that don't even look like a restaurant. Don't get me wrong, I like most any food but my favorite has to be what I grew up with.

Some good home cooked BBQ Ribs on wood charcoal, with some of my homemade BiggDogg BBQ sauce, corn on the cob, and some mashed taters, big glass of iced tea. Man, I think I need to cook some this weekend now.

Having served 22 years in the Army, my travels took me many places with many foods...my all time favorite was at a Schutzenhaus in Hedelberg, Germany (Schutzenhaus is a shooting house- where the local gun freaks meet to shoot and eat...not alot of guns in Germany, so they eat like crazy).

They serve a pork Schnitzel that is sliced in half, filet style and stuffed with Garlic. They then flip it back like a garlic pork sandwich, deep batter and pan fry it. It is served with an amazing brown gravy that is topped with fried crunchy onions. A side of pan fried potatoes as well. That is an amazing power packed meal...the serving size is the size of the plate, huge!

I may have to fly over and get one of those...

My least favorite was the camel head stew served in Saudi Arabia...a horrible, nightmarish dish indeed.
