Whats it worth....360 4brl intake with carb?
I have a cast iron 360 four barrel intake with a holley carb that came with my truck. I have a good running 360 with a 2 barrel and really dont see myself putting it on the truck.
I have no clue what it is worth. I searched eBay and they go anywhere from $25 to $250. What makes one worth more than the others? I am looking at selling it to fund items I need for my 68 Bump.
Thanks for any advise and help.

Re: Whats it worth....360 4brl intake with carb?
It really depends on the condition of the carb. If it is new or rebuilt with electric choke and all that it would def. be worth more then a well used carb. The cast iron intake is not worth much imo. I would find the gerneral value of the carb and then add about $25 for the intake to sell as a package.

, The intakes aren't worth too much but that would all depend on the buyer and what kind of shape yours is in, and I'd imagine the price would have to be pretty low if it was someone buying it over Ebay due to the weight of that bad boy . The carbs value is just like fireguywtc said, It would be based on whether it is rebuilt or well worn in, manual or electric choke could make a difference but then again most of the hot-rod guys that would be interested in it would probably prefer manual choke anyways, also how much would cost you to buy a new one could make it worth a bit more or a bit less than comparable carbs. I'd list it in the classifieds section and see what happens, I'm sure there's someone in your area willing to check it out Good luck!fireguywtc wrote:It really depends on the condition of the carb. Re: Whats it worth....360 4brl intake with carb?
If I were you, before I make any decisions I would check the numbers and be sure of what you have. No 360 ever left the factory with a four barrel intake, so the intake you have is either off a car 352, a 390, a 410, or a 428. If it is a special intake (like an s-code or a 428 model) it is worth substantially more than a regular 390 4 barrel intake (which is probably what it is). Keep in mind when I say "substantially" I mean like maybe $150 instead of $75.

[s]It is also possible it is an aluminum police intake.[/s] EDIT: I see you said it is CI.
Post the numbers off of the intake and the carb list number off of the air horn...
It is probably run of the mill stuff worth a few hundred, but the answer to your question could be $100.00 or $1000.00.

Re: Whats it worth....360 4brl intake with carb?
Its a 66 S-code intake I run the same one on my 390 truck. That inatke with the Holley will get better milage/perf although not sure on a 360 if it would net you much. The inatke depending on where you are and who is intrested is worth roughly $50 maybe 75 if you catch the right guy. The holley if in good working order prolly $100-125. If it was me I would run that set up on the truck.

Re: Whats it worth....360 4brl intake with carb?
That looks like the carb and manifold that was on my 67 factory racer. Stock carb required, the internal engine and other parts had to have 500 engines built that way for the street. It is great until about 5500 on a 390 but would have real slow runner velocity on a 360. Though the carb could have been changed out at anytime for what s on it.

The numbers on the Holley are:
LIST 1850-2
3455
Hope this helps. Thanks for the answers. I really have no interest in running this on the truck. If someone close by has interest in it let me know.
Thanks

Re: Whats it worth....360 4brl intake with carb?
That is a manual choke 4160 series 600 cfm carb. It started being produced in 1963 and is still being made today. If it is good shape it is perfect for stock to mild FE from 352 to 428. If the carb is real old it will have worn throttle shafts and the vacuum problem will be a real tuning problem because of that.
You will be okay with that on a 360 The S-Code manifold will not be tuned as well for the smaller cubes though it won't hurt the engine. It just won't really wake up the 360 like it does a 390.

Re: Whats it worth....360 4brl intake with carb?
I've got the same manifold on my 360, and HATE it.
It can't be used with the heated spacer, and if the ambient air temp gets below 50 degrees with high humidity, I have one heck of a time with carb icing, even with a factory air cleaner/heat stove setup.
