Bump project on hold for a bit

Post by mrsnicks »

So last Fall at the Charlotte swap meet I picked up a 1971 Dodge Charger project car for my wife. I told her the car would be hers and she insisted that we work on it together. She got mad when I would work on it alone so I stopped doing that. To date we have worked on the car together 1 time. Well since I've been in it and did some work on it and been seeing it in the garage I've REALLY gotten to like it. So.....

Tonight I am going to pick up a 1971 Dodge Charger SE for myself that I can work on when I want and do whatever I want. I think it will be pretty cool to have His-N-Hers Chargers. Hers is a better optioned car (A/C, PS) but they both have front power disc brakes 318 engines and auto trans. My car is in better shape overall body/rust wise and has a couple options hers doesn't have (Hood pins, Fender turn signals). Neither have the highly coveted items like bucket seats or center console shifters or power bulge hoods.

Some people think they are butt ugly but I'm 6' 10", 305lbs and just don't fit in most of the other muscle cars. This is a nice fit. Also I can't remember the last time I saw a Charger on the road going anywhere. I see old Mustangs and Camaros quite often, even an old Cougar, but not Chargers.

Wish me luck and don't hate because it's not a Ford. Oh yeah. If anyone has any old Charger parts laying around Holla!

I've always been a Dodge fan, just cant afford them  . My last good shot at buying a 69 Road Runner went out the window cause my now x-wife thought it was ugly. It was my uncles car that just had 80### something miles on it that he wanted 2000.00 for. Had new quarters on it but needed floor pans and some work around the back glass. 383 car that ran like a new one. :x frikin women!
