thinking for the future!

Post by 1972bumpkansas »

well i was just thinking of future plans, and i eventually plan on sanding all of my truck down, priming it than painting it. only one issue...i want a unique color that is not seen on very many of these trucks or any antique vehicles. any opinions on a cool looking color? my grandma thinks that matallic light/sky/baby blue would look good..im just not sure....kinda wanting opinions from y'all. so throw in your :2cents:

Non-common? Well, in my area, I see allot of red, blue, and black. SO, if going for one of those, pick an off color. Bright colors and mettalics are common, so I'd say green, but that's just my choice. Ofcourse, knowing me, I'd end up getting either the same blue I have now re-done, or a deep mettalic blue. On the other hand, I've always wanted an orange truck..my favorite color..also considering orange and black...

Back to your topic though..

I'd say, my own two cents would go towards a nice green color. Something akin to green/white combo. :)

One of these days I will actually upload some photos, but here is a picture of my bumpside as it was when I bought it recently.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... MEWAX%3AIT

I have done quite a bit to it, but just havent done any photos yet. But its green, and I am going to repaint it this color green again eventually. In the meantime, it is still in the "clearcoat peeling off" condition only a bit cleaner as I have at least washed it.

Probably going to scuff the rest of the clear coat off and keep it flat green for now. I might even paint it flat green when I do get it repainted. Anyway, just another option for you.

(I spraypainted the stock wheels flat black and the truck looks a lot better now.. lol).

The third one and the last one are pretty close to a color used by GM on a lot of Pontiacs in the late 60's.

My truck is Sea-Foam green! It's one of my favorite colors Ford used.
Here are a few pictures of it for you the way it sits as of now:

And here are a few pictures of it when it was still in one piece :

I vote for it to be either Sea-Foam Green or some combination of a Copper and a Silver color.
