Off Topic: My '75 Bronco
I've been doing an engine swap in my Bronco for longer than I care to admit. I transplanted a 5.0 GT engine out of an Explorer into my Bronco. It is a true and complete swap retaining the computer control and EDIS ignition system. A good friend of mine built the harness. It is completely custom to this vehicle and is comprised of elements from 3 different vehicle harnesses: the original Bronco, the Explorer, and an early 90's T-bird. The computer from the Explorer was replaced with an aftermarket A9P (common to '93 Mustangs) so it could work with the Moates Quarterhorse I installed to tune the engine my Bronco's particular needs. Most of this project has been over my head and the learning curve has been steep to say the least. Buying my '67 F100 and enjoying its comparatively simplistic systems has been a nice break.... but my wife's patience with my vehicle ADHD has worn thin and I needed to get the Bronco running. The last couple of obstacles in getting the engine started fell away yesterday and it now runs! I had to shoot some video so my friends who helped out so much with the swap could see that it really does run. Posted them to You Tube & thought you bumpsters would enjoy. With a good set of computer speakers you get some appreciation for the exhaust note. It's not final right now, but the Dynomax muffler will probably stay. I'm not sure about the 3" tailpipe.

Nice Bronco. Sounds like a healthy swap. Any engine pictures yet?

An "uncut" body!
Beautiful, and sounds very healthy.
Is that a softride suspension system? What other mods have you done?
Two vehicles I really want to add:
''72-'75 Bronco
'53 NAA Golden Jubilee.

Re: Off Topic: My '75 Bronco
Let's see... Chevy disc brake conversion was the first thing I did. Then it got 3-1/2" of suspension lift. That was accomplished with James Duff progressive coils up front, National 11 pack springs in back. Bilstein 7100 shocks in front and 5100s in back. At the same time I did a tie rod over conversion to avoid a drop pitman arm. I used Chevy 1 ton tie rod ends in a neat package a friend of mine makes specially for Broncos. The Bronco had cut rear fenders when I bought it, but I've always wanted an uncut Bronco, so after finding the cut pieces off another Bronco, I welded them onto mine and did the bodywork & paint. I also had the inside of the entire tub Line-Xd. I did the paint and engine backwards, but my wife hated the look of my 5 color Bronco, as I got better body panels along the way, so that's why it was painted before I finished the mechanical stuff. The old 302 was pretty tired in this Bronco, so when I saw an ad on CL for a rolled Explorer with a V-8, I bought the whole thing and parted out the rest after pulling the engine and getting all the wiring out. When the engine went in I had to do a 1" body lift so the intake would fit under the stock hood. I also upgraded from 31" tires to 33s. I wanted the old school look, so I sold the complete set of low mileage 31's on American Racing wheels and powder coated a set of stock steelies. I had a set of original hubcaps to complete the look. The tires are 33x9.50, so it's a pizza cutter look for sure.Happy_Camper wrote:An "uncut" body!![]()

Still to go... it has a spartan interior, but it's all in good shape except for the driver's seat bottom. I guess I'll finish the interior next. Maybe hydroboost after that.

The front suspension looks awesome, and from the video, it appears to have excellent control. None of the wander, that seems to plague the stock steering when lifted.
You've done a beautiful job!![Thumbs up ](./images/smilies/icon_thumright.gif)

Captain America,
You sure know how to hurt a guy man!
Had my 76' for over 8 years on the road, another 7-8 as a swamp buggy (the tub was shot). I sure do miss that truck.
This is one of the most awesome pics I've ever seen:

Is that an old Torino hiding behind the EB in the barn?
