Strange facts about health

Post by 69F110 »

I know this is way off the beaten path...but as I found out this information, I immediatelyt thought of people in my life that could fit the bill on this.

1. Unexplained swelling of the legs and feet without them going down overnight is a first sign of Congestive Heart Failure. As you gain weight it takes like 1000 feet of blood vessels (new) to pump blood through that pound...which causes the heart to work harder. At some point the heart simply cannot keep up with the blood pumping and begins to harden. The swelling of the legs and feet in both men and women is an early sign of it happening.

2. Also, a large round belly on an otherwise healthy man can be a sign of fluid retention caused by the congestive heart failure also. (In my uncles case, we simply he was gaining weight...but it was literally the fluid retention that caused the large belly. He didn't even know it...)

It cannot be reversed, or the heart cannot unharden in the places it hardens, but it can be stopped. If you or someone you love has this issue and has not had it checked, encourage them to go.

wow that is really scary. i was in that boat last year until my doc put me on a new medication being 28 and almost peaking 300 lbs. i have been diabetic since i was 4 yrs old i started getting to the point where i was having to take a lot more insulin than i should have been taking. in the last year i have dropped almost 70 lbs and barely take any insulin now thanks to that new medication.
