Which year and Why?
Is there a particular year that you just gotta have or is the year of your truck based on family heirloom, condition, equipment, color, price, what's available, etc?
A 67 was my first truck by accident, well it was a choice between a 66 and a 67. I chose the 67 because it's condition was much nicer. Since then I have had at least one from each year and continue to go back to the 67s. For me, the 67 has a certain feel and/or look to it that the other years don't have, so that is why I always gotta have 67s. What about you?

67-69 because of the grilles. thats the only real reason. my first truck was a 68 with a 69 grille on it.

Re: Which year and Why?
My first truck was a '65f100, everybody called her "mean green" (and she WAS mean
). I taught my wife to drive in that ol' truck 30 years ago and I was actually looking for a '65-'66 when I found the '68 I have now. It was just a deal I couldn't pass up. Even though I do agree 100% with Fordman, the '67-'69 are better looking trucks, especially with a '69 Ranger grill, I would trade my '68 for a really slick '65-'66
just for sentimental reasons.

1972 - because when I was a kid my dad bought one brand new. He bought a 72 F100 custom short bed. He ordered it because he wanted it with no options other than a NP435 and a larger clutch and 31 spline rear axles.

has to be '67 - because deep down I am a masochist - and love to read 68-72 only when I'm searching for parts

1972, though mostly just cause that's my first truck. It's the one I found for a steal, and in pretty decent shape. It beat the hell out of allot of other ones I saw...

Re: Which year and Why?
I just like the grilles on the 67-69 and lack of a bedside marker light.

Re: Which year and Why?
Both I guess. My dad bought my 71 F100 SportCustom long bed new and I got it when I was 15. I am now 47 so I guess I am used to it. Plus I just like the 71 Grill and the Sport Custom chrome set up. I don't like the large Ranger chrome. I do like the smaller chrome on the earlier models also.

69 for a few reasons. The grill and no side markers on the bump, and the main one is because it was my grandads. ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

I like the 68-69 grills the best. I got a '68 because that was just what it happened to be though.

I like the 69 ranger best, The teak woodgrain and exterior trim just fit the truck perfect IMO. Plus its the last year with no emisions or side marker lights.

Re: Which year and Why?
I used to like the 68-69 grills better. I even have a 68 grill ready to put in the 70. The more I look at the 70 though, the more I like it so, I think I'll leave it as is.
