engine and frame numbers

Post by ottocilindri »

hi, I'm from Italy and for the italian licence plates i need a picture of the engine number and the frame number.
I have a 1970 f-250 whit 390c.i. whit aftermarket A/C i think that the number is under the A/C compressor but I wont be sure before disassemble.
for the frame number i have found a picture on this site ( http://www.fordification.com/tech/image ... tionsL.jpg ) but on top of the right frame there is nothig and under the cab I can't see nothing, is possible that number is in another place?
thanks

there is no enigne numbers on these engines. the only thing you might find on the front side under the drivers head is the casting "352" and those casting numbers wont even tell you what it is. however under the oil filter on the little ledge you might find a date code and or another casting number. but the vin number will not be on the engine. ford did not do that on these engiens for the most part. they were too old to fall under any kind of law or new way of doing that.

the frame vin number is on the passenger side front frame rail. you have to scrub down the rust and dirt to see the numbers.
