Another Tire/Wheel Question

Post by TexasTruck72 »

I know this type of question os answered very often on here, but please forgive me of asking it again.

I am interested in upgrading to larger tires on my stock '72 F-100 LWB 2wd. I have the original 15 inch rims and plan to keep on using them.
What is a good size and or brand of tire that you'd recommend for a 15" rim? I want to go up to at least 235/75/15 from the 215/75/15s I have on it now, maybe even bigger. Another question is at what size tire do you need to start lifting your truck to allow it to fit/clear the wheel well, especially when turning?

Any input, opinions, feedback, or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I trying to improve my bump's traction, especially on dirt roads. Also trying to achieve a smoother ride on & off road. My rims are stock 15" rims and I don't quite know the diameter, but I'd have to guess it's somewhere around 6".

BFG All Terrain T/A's are a good tire choice. They work well on and off road and are also good in the rain. You'll probably want to increase the rim width to 8". Depending on your spring sag you can probably go with a 30" or 31" tire.

:yt:, I agree fully and thoroughly with bobby! BFG All Terrain T/A's are great off road, and don't ride half as rough as the other All Terrains we have ran on other vehicles .
