body swap

OK well I bought a 73 highboy a couple months ago. I was going to go to a bump style body. Well this weekend I came up on a 2000 f250 body from a repo. I can get the body for the cost of going to get it. It's a standard cab long bed Superduty 2x4. Anyone have any input or how hard this swap may or may not be.

, If you are then I'm not sure what you'd gain w/ the older chassis other than 4x4. With that said I'm sure it could probably be done, not sure how easily it could be done though maybe someone w/ a truck a '98-up 3/4 ton will chime in with some kind of measurements or advice. I think your biggest issues are gonna be frame rail width as I believe the newer trucks have wider frame rails, that and wheel base although neither of them are too big of an issue if you're planning on doing a little bit of custom fab work. Good luck with the swap if you decide to go through with it, it would be an interesting transformation to see .

You would have to be VERY skilled at welding/fabricating and would have TONS of headaches to deal with by doing that...
I say put a bump body on it or leave the dent body on it.

Well a bit of an update. I went and took some measurements and it wont take to much. Some custom body mounts on the frame and redrilling some holes here and there. I didn't think it would take to much but wasn't sure. I am going to get the body this weekend if all goes well. Depends on how fast I can get the combine to cut beans.

You know everytime I try doing that I get into what I am dong and forget to take pics. I don't think this will be to hard because this was a WT version. It also had a manual. SHort of access for the transfer case the cab should go on without much fuss. Well I hope.
