I have had green split Oak firewood stacked a layer above the bed front to back on a Long bed 71 F100 351W at that time, AOD, 3.70 gears AND a 5x10 trailer stacked 3 ft high with green oak. Hauled it about 10 miles on country roads with no problem. More than I should have hauled but I have power disc brakes and took it pretty easy and slow. If I had been forced into an emergency stop I probably would have been in trouble. I try not to load her like that anymore. In fact I don't load the truck at all anymore. She is retired. If I need to haul a load I put it in the trailer. She can pull what ever I need with the 460/C6 and 3.25 gears she has now. No need to make her squat anymore.

Oh, let's not go there... My personal best in my '68 ranchero was 900lbs of copper and 600lbs of magnesium, all emboss dies. The exhaust was draggin in spite of the air shocks being all the way up... I've put many hella loads of firewood in the back, 3/4 cord or better of green oak.

My best is my ol 67. Three rounds especially. Neighbor had a heavy trailer and full size industrial John Deere Backhoe arond an hour from our house to go pick up. No trailer brakes or anything. Open road to gravel one lane for over an hour each way. Only thing was couple downhill curves to monkey through. Oh yeah, and a gas station or two that it couldnt pass!! Did great though. Another time was load of lumber that filled the bed and stuck out 2 feet or so and had springs bowed flat. No problem. Hauled like it wasnt there. Last one was a load of red clay fill dirt on a muddy day. Told guy not too big a load where it was wet. He loaded till we happened to look over and stop him. It was rounded up a couple feet above the headrack on the bed!! That one bowed the springs backward. Long time short trip there. The only load to ever make it really moan. Love my ol rusty truck! Lots of average size loads of dirt and rock to boot! This ol truck has worked. Guy before us used it to pull average sized Backhoe quite often. Good ol rust bucket.

Dont say like a rock. That means stationary and heavy. Not good for doing anything much! Besides thats chevy! Just messing around. Bet its pretty tough. It is a bump so it has to be.

Back in the day when I ran an F250 bump as a daily I used to get pretty stupid. I've always been know to run 'em "fat". My current daily sees some serious loads of wood. My 72 is registered as an antique and PA says I can't haul anything.

I pulled a skid steer loader on a heavy duty tandem axle trailer 35 miles of hilly and curvy road with my '72 F-100 long bed. It had a 351W in it with a C-4 form a LTD. My Dad used to haul a ton of feed in his '69 half ton with a 240 and three on the tree. He also used to haul two round bales of hay at a time in it.

the heaviest thing that i can ever remember carring in the bed was full bed of junk with some home made farmer special bed rails made out of some 2x2's and 1x 6's i think the load may have weighted about 600lbs at the most

That first video is pretty awesome, that's a lot of semi to pull especially when you're in the snow. Second video is just plain cool, the question is: Can that mower actually mow the grass?
