MY NEWEST-AND LAST-BUMP!!!!!!!

Post by lrjetmech »

Here's some pics of my newest BUMP! '69 Ranger, 360, 3-on-the-tree, Short Bed, LOVE IT!!!!!!! Not perfect, but it won't take much to get there. Have decided to go this route, as my new promotion last year-and the accompanying overtime, has convinced me that I will never get to do the kind of restoration work that I wish I could do. Gonna just be content to have a really clean original to start with, and do some MINOR things to get it as perfect as I want. Haven't been on in a while now, finally have a decent wireless internet connection out here in the sticks, so I will try to be a regular again. And of course,

New hood was put on at some point-the red doesn't match the rest of the truck. The Ranger emblems on the bed need to be replaced, rear bumper, door handles and some other things need rechromed, little things like that. Nothing major for sure. Haven't stopped smiling since I got her home-725 mile drive to Little Rock from Hickory, NC, and enjoyed every minute of it! :D

Even the engine is clean. Someone did a lot of work on that truck or kept in a garage/barn for a long time.

I'm smiling and the truck isn't even mine. But hey, driving my own makes me smile. So I sure understand. Congrats on your promotion at work.

That's one sharp truck. I think the '69 ranger is the best looking truck Ford ever made. Remember, it was made to be driven not just to set there and look pretty. I have an '04 and an '06 but I still drive my manual-steering, no-air '68 every day. :D And the '06 is a company truck, free gas. ( :shh: It's a chevy :nono:)

I understand completely...promised my wife I wouldn't drive it every day due to the gas mileage, but I just can't help it! :D Looked for this truck, or one pretty much like it for 4 years now, when I saw it, I knew it was the one. Thanks to the gentleman who sold it to me, he really didn't want to part with it, but I understood why he had to, and I was glad I could help him out. Of course, he made a dream come true for me in the process, so it was a win-win for both of us. Will be posting about the other two I have to find new homes for soon...wife is agreeable to this one, but not all three... :nono: She doesn't understand our affection for these trucks, but that was part of the deal... Hope somebody is looking for one of these two, or both-will post pics later...
