Took my truck to place of Birth

Post by FordRocket72 »

I was driving down the 880 in the bay area and stopped the truck at the Great Mall in Milipitas, California. I drove down Great Mall Parkway and turned a right into Mustang Drive. I parked in a conveniently marked place and snapped a quick picture. Not long ago there was The Ford Motor Company, San Jose Assembly Plant right here in this spot. The plant is gone but the darn truck is still right here!

thats where my 67 was born as well. I wanted to do the same thing as you when I lived in Tracy, but never got around to it. I agree that it is funny and way cool at the same time.

Nice picture! I have driven by the site of the former Mahwah, NJ plant where mine was born. Never stopped for a picture.

My dad worked there for I think 19 years til they closed the doors. I need to see if my trucks came from there.

Why is it that the trucks are always the best running vehicles in the family?

I think my 74 F-100 was born there as I recall.. I looked it up once..
My 68 F-250 was a K.C. truck. And I happened to live in the K.C.
area at that time. Had a Ford factory worker living right down
the street. He drove the baddest car in the hood at that time.
A dark navy blue 1968 Shelby Cobra with a 428. You could hear it
rumble every morning when he warmed it up to go to work.
I'm sure he got a discount. I was about in 5th grade then.. :/

Once I get my '69 highboy done coming up here shortly I will go park it in the same spot you did and get a picture
Too cool... If only it was still there.
